How realistic is this rumor guys? I know that people have been talking about it for a while but wanted to see what you think about this.

Wishful and wistful thinking.
Shell might buy the assets but I doubt they will buy the company outright. Too much difference in company cultures and working style. Nobody in the oil industry wants to hire a BP manager.
BTW, I think this will never happen
