Pressure Pumping concerns/questions?

Everyone on here keeps asking about what's going to happen with pressure pumping so I'll give y'all a few explanations since "Haker-Burton" hasn't released info on specific divisions other than 3. Fyi, I'm just an oilfield wife but have spent almost 40 yrs around it and I have a lot of knowledge of how businesses think n operate...a lot of it is common sense if you look outside the box too.

  1. Anti-trust laws and DOJ prohibit 2 large corporations to combine the same services or divisions because it creates somewhat of a monopoly, where they have too much power and there's not enough competition, so somethings have to go or be rearranged.

  2. Halliburton is largest provider of pressure pumping services in the U.S., it makes no sense for them to divest or close their division. They bought BH to acquire the technology and divisions they lack or is inferior, not for completions.

  3. Is it just me but from what I've read for the last 3 months is that some BH PP yards are being closed but the Halli yards in the same towns aren't closing. A few BH yards have been relocated, most likely to an area where Halli doesn't have one or it's not very big. It also makes no sense to have 2 PP yards in the same town or in close proximity of each other.

  4. It's pretty much the norm that even if the buying company keeps a specific asset they eventually rid it of the other company's employees, but may keep a few specialists and upper management, and bring on their own people. The people they do keep have to meet their hiring and employee requirements and policies. What worked for one company may not be suitable for the new company. History shows that big corporation takeovers never end well for the purchased company's employees.

  5. PP is costly so with the current and indefinite downturn any company that acquires or has a PP division or company will be losing a lot of money for who knows how long...this is not what any company wants or will do unless they're willing to wait it out and pray that they'll eventually make a massive profit to cover the purchase, overhead, and lost revenue before going under. Also if GE or Pioneer Energy buy PP they're not going to maintain and keep every yard open.

  6. I personally believe that if Halli wanted more PP yards they would of opened their own because it costs less and isn't as much of a legal hassle.

And I'm sure I missed something but can't remember it at the moment. BH PP and most of the other overlapping divisions will have to be sold or discarded of if hypothetically they were to be merged and became TOO BIG for the industry or compared to the industry standards.

Yes I'm a chic but if any of y'all disagree with me, disagree with me because you have a valid point not just because I'm a damn chic. Y'all might have the muscle and a few of you have brains too but I managed my ex-husband's oil & gas consulting business, have invested in oilfield services stocks, and worked for big corporations like Halliburton and BH (not oilfield but for an extremely large commercial real estate company and they did the same thing). So no haters based on my sex alone please.

The BHI facility's have been in the plans to close way before the merger was announced. Baker Hughes likes super facilities not a bunch of small facilities.

Sorry for your loss; but the oilfields are great. My husband worked with broken fingers, survived layoffs and travelled to where there was work. We married at age17 (we lied about his age so he could work) and worked very hard to survive. We did so by not living above our means. Saving a portion no matter what. I went to work when our youngest started school, hard when your husband is coming and going. We had to sell two houses at a lost, but we always had a home. We survived downsizing, oil prices falling, and anything that came our way. We have all we need and more now. My advice is to buck up and start looking for new job. Companies merge, they always have.

For the men on here, whether you agree or disagree with my perspectives on the open debate and speculation of PP's future and that also aren't in desperate need of testosterone replacement therapy, I want to say thank you for having respect for women and another's opinions and for not letting Al Bundy be your idol...y'alls mommas should be proud of you and themselves for raising you right. Good luck to every last one of you...have a little faith and don't stress about something you can't change.

hey poster "you know who"...of course the longest post on here is from a woman because while you watch porn and wonder why you're always giving yourself a hand job instead of getting a blowjob I'm paying attention to what's going on in the REAL WORLD but also because I'm the one with the superior mental capability, above average analytic thinking skills, and have a brain processes information at approximately 1.5x the speed at which yours does...so in a nutshell, I can take care of my shit, your shit, be a mom and a wife, work a full time job, read, learn, and fully understand it all; have a social life, manage money better than some banks can, have a clean house, do physical and/or the "man" work, and do the dishes all while you're picking your nose and jacking off to a fat chic that makes Precious look skinny. (but be careful that u don't spooge in your face, it's salty so idk if you'd like it...or maybe u would. lol). It's narrow-minded, inferior-feeling, egotistical, male-chauvinistic asses like you in the world that make chics want to start using their peanut-sized brain to begin with because there's nothing more satisfying than watching a cry-baby titty mouse with a pea-sized brain get pissed, throw tantrums, and hurl insults at you all because she knows a little or a lot more shit than you and is perfectly willing n able of working on a car, throw a hammer, get a little dirty and whole lot of drunk, and specializes in whooping your ass at poker or whatever lame ass games guys like you play..like "which chic with a dick is the bigger bitch?". I'm sorry love, idk know you, but i know your type and all I can say is "PUSSY! You go do the dishes since it was your fatass eating all day that dirtied them."

To be honest Halliburton has just as much presence over seas as baker. I worked in 22 different countries along with USA. All of it will be sold.

"Y'all might have the muscle and a few of you have brains too." May I suggest that the poster below belong to the former, rather than the latter category.

Madam, I appreciate your analysis of BHI PP, and of the nature of acquisitions at large. Folks in Tomball can use the clarity and reality amid chaos and hypocrisy. Thank you.

Hal will sell BHI PP in North America and keep it in international where Hal does not have as much PP presence as BHI.

Kudos. There's no way to be a winner when you are working for BH PP right now. There are a lot of naive people here and I hope the best for them but I can see what's coming. It's only a matter of time. Especially with a hallibrton yard a slingshot away.

Very smart man you are...my grandfather was oilfield up until the bust in the 80's. They lost absolutely everything that he'd spent 25 yrs working his ass of for. It was so absolutely devastating to him that he left town, left the patch, and never went back although he still loves it to this day and talks about it all the time.

I appreciate your perspective and thoughts. Being in PP myself at BHI, the current philosophy by middle management and the die hired lemmings is one of utter denial. They seem to think they can impress Hal with what we have to offer and thus secure a position within the new organization. Poor, pathetic fools. I'm trying to get out before the job market is completely flooded.
