@Anonymous86010, if you swap in "Fed money printing" for BMW, you'd sound like that blowhard Paul Krugman.

No guarantee that the Q will keep paying dividends when times get rough. Employees already have too much vested in the Q (their primary source of income in an area with only one major tech employer), so no need to hold on to so many shares as well for a crap yield. You'd be better off selling the shares in exchange for a rental property if you want yield

Hey, BMW helps everybody, from car sales to local gas station. Car salesmen dine at Nobu to impress dates, and gas attendants splurge at IN-N-OUT. Everybody gets a piece of the pie. Even pie (pizza) sales goes up when Chargers plays.

Yeah, you are right. Most employees (outside of Mollenkopf and Jacobs with $95mil bonus) cash in RSU to support the local economy. If they had the sense to keep the RSU, they would realize that return/yield is better when QCOM price is down. And, lower QCOM price means more RSU grants. Let’s chant for lower QCOM price. It is the duty of all QC employees to empower their RSU.

there's a gargantuan buyback authorization. might as well be the "plunge protection team". does the average employee keep RSU for dividends? the average employee probably depends on RSU sale to pay for frivolous BMW and bloated mortgage.

So, as long as QC revenue stays strong, it is actually better to see QCOM price goes down. Since many QC employees are getting fixed value RSU, they will receive more shares. More shares mean more dividends, and dividend percentage increases. What is there not to like about lower QCOM price?

yes, that's called yield. Free cash flow position should be strong, and it's committed to shareholders, not you worker bee drones. I'll take that passive income at those low low low low tax rates any day, barring some Fed fueled biotech / sharing economy BS market crash that takes us all down. Rising tide lifts some yachts, but a liquidity crisis sinks all ships.

Let’s see how great it is when QC sees another flat quarter, and stock takes another 10% dip. Technically, a dip in stock means a rise in dividend on a percentage basis. If you already own QCOM, then you should buy in more to lower your cost basis and increase your dividend percentage. Hmmm…
