Simply mark everybody present and give everybody an A. Don't bother teaching anymore but just show up for the paycheck.

If you think people writing about the caliber of student writing and the level of grade inflation is trolling, you clearly don't work at Heald. Instructors get called in if students don't show up to class or if too many students are failing.

401, you jest, but I've seen student writing that's not much different than that. The substituting of similarly spelled words was one of my first surprises at Heald.

@337. You're an idiot who has no idea what you're talking about. Our school has no attendance policy, heavily discourages any late policy by instructors, doesn't punish students for cheating, and expects teachers to do anything possible to allow students to pass. Who would you say is the unethical party here? The ONLY group trying to follow any ethics are the instructors.
Reading these comments about "giving A's and posting positive attendance" for all students is horse crap! If your an educator doing this, it's YOUR Masters degree that is in the toliet Mr. OR Mrs. Unethical Dummy !

4% is low, but just turn in something before class ends and we can get you the A you deserve. Showing up for class is the extra credit.

It's not quite that bad, but it's bad enough that nobody takes what we do seriously. You've attended twice in nine weeks of class? Your grade is a 2% and we've already done 70% of the classwork? You want to turn in an assignment that was due two months ago? Sure! Anything you want in the educational toilet that is Heald!!!!
Don't forget to mark them present, even if they were there for less than a minute. That's more important than any grade you can give them.
I think you meant "Give them an A each and every day!" I had a PD tell our department that she never gave students a grade less than B unless she could prove they plagiarized -- and there is great pressure on instructors to give students who plagiarize a second and third chance.
Which campus and classes are these? Please do uphold standards for academic work at all time. Students take the lead from faculty, so any unprofessional behavior only undercuts their educational experience and commitment to learning. Bring your "A Game" each and every day!
