how is it possible that the SVPs who "ran" the businesses are still there? cota? mazzocco? swisher? who headed up PLM? goodman? and we just hold on to the likes of zalzman to do what exactly?

The fact that Cota, Mazzacco, Culmone and Pantel still have jobs after three years of letting Barbie slide backwards - and actually have new jobs - is a sign Mattel hasn't changed yet. Blame for this is throughout, but it starts with Alan Kaye, head of HR. Until he "decides to spend more time with his family" this Mattel specific habit of moving people to other groups vs firing will continue - and not solve the problem.
Chris Down will keep running down the hall as he's late for a VERY IMPORTANT meeting where all he spews out of his mouth is cliches. As we helicopter out before doing the deep dive going forward at the end of the day in a perfect world to increase our bandwidth. Let's move the needle.

Mattel upper management is a "don't rock the boat" good old boy club. Not good for creativity or innovation. How come you don't mention Down & Wadleigh the Juggernaut in your list of do-nothing cronies? And Chris, regarding the Disney/Frozen license, why did you "Let It Go"?
