As we know, the temporary employees are some of the hardest working employees in the company. In an effort to cut money, they are ending ALL temp contracts. Surely to make room for more VP's. Some managers are working hard to place temps in permanent positions around the company. We've seen this temp massacre in years past. Usually, they'll hired some back, sometimes in full time positions. Again, more product with less people.

I learned a valuable lesson as a temp...it doesn't matter how productive you are, how much your boss imsists your going to be full time, or how high profile the products your working on are... your 100% disposable
I know of a temp employee who actually vendored out renderings while he was a temp. Can you believe that? .............A temp employee who was paying a outside vendor to render concept drawings? WYF, O would have fired him ASAP. They then hired him as a full time employee but he finally got let go this round of layoffs.
And his manager, JP is still employed there who let him do it. Just great.
Why is this a bad thing, we need to cut expenses. They are temps. This is normal, stop your crying and get back to work.
Confirmed. I've spoken to a few of the temps here in ES. Their contract ends at the end of the month.
I wonder if Tim Kilpin's son, a PRO temp, will be flushed with the rest.
can't confirm for the other campuses, but in El Segundo campus, this is true. everyone here knows it, even the temps. don't know what's gonna happen to PRO. like the OP said, they'll usually hire back the temps, some full-time, once they work out the numbers.
i remember this happening at the end of the year one time. all temp contracts were ended. they all got a call at home, basically saying, 'merry christmas, happy new year...don't bother coming back'. about two weeks later, they hired most of them back. the difference is, only HR and upper management knew of the terminations. the direct supervisors of these temps were not informed (some) until january.
Pro: the "temp" company Mattel uses to hire people so they dont have to pay them benefits. Many "temps" at Mattel have been there for YEARS.
What is PRO?
Do you know this or just speculating? Does that mean PRO will go away eventually too?
