HOW TO NOT GET LAID OFF BY WEATHERFORD

Here's some tips for not getting laid off here at Weatherford. Safely do your job to the best of your ability, show up on time, utilize the RADAR program and don't be a f***ing idiot. The point of the layoffs that our company is doing is to 'trim the fat' . Goodbye to all of the useless people who can't do their job right. 28 people lost their jobs at our location and morale and production is much higher. Don't bitch about this great company.

We're past the point of cleaning house of the poor workers. Lots of really good people who do their job well are being impacted, no matter if they do a radar card, show up on time, excell at their job.

If he is right about the layoff's in Edmonton, he needs to be promoted and come down to Texas and Louisiana and give him the authority to hire and fire. Let him speak with the few good employees who still have jobs. After speaking with them he can go in and fire the worthless people with contacts that are still there. He could also fire the contact and rehire the good employees who were let go.

Interesting article in Wall Street Journal. With all the technology available today, there is no need for the many tiers of VP's, regional and mid-level managers. Many companies have eliminated several of these positions. I guess when the big boys are sitting and having their daily Irish coffee, they don't think or don't have the ability to think after the whisky kicks in.

Not all of us work in manufacturing branch plants where RADAR cards make a difference. Those of us in corporate offices are being laid off with reckless disregard even if we have been rated excellent in all performance reviews. Go f*** yourself
