Is it me or is the December 2024 sales quota unrealistic to hit?
I am 8 months into the job and this is the highest since I came off ramp up
Do reps make 100% to target? What happens if I do not?

It's been a problem in the retail locations for years, reps becoming ast mgrs. Most believe it's a license not to do anything and delegate everything to the reps, cash management, inventory, store opening procedures etc. And they help very little with selling in the store. The position should be eliminated because all the reps have store keys and have opening and closing procedures and are also " productive " the ast mgr position is a great job if you want a job were you can "hang out" and get paid.
@ 6cth+1w8U1QyA …..seems like a ripe move to muster up some Union talk. The SM’s can’t even provide the most basic tools to help out with our jobs. Everything is always broke or we are out of this or out of that. December has been one of the worst sales months I can remember in a long time. Hey but keep that video assist on and put in those leads and don’t forget to slam perks. What a disaster. Talk about zero sense of awareness as to what’s really going on in the stores.
Here's a brief comment on December in a store in the Northeast, near NYC, First we had store meeting before Black Friday. Store mger says the ast mgrs will be in the front of the store the holiday season overseeing the queue and csr walking in with trouble shooting. It must have been a "dream" because that didn't happen on any day during the season. A matter of fact last week we had 2 callouts and there were 2 reps left out on the floor during opening and both ast mgrs (in the back claiming they're busy) and didn't come out for about 30 mins with 60min wait times.it became anarchy and at least, a safety issue for the 2 reps left on the floor. The GM has never followed up all month regarding the ast mgrs actions especially when he has a day off. They bring nothing to the table only constant negativity regarding " numbers " and constant micromanaging. The morale in this location is gone. Thus store mgmt brings nothing to the table and are hypocrites and biased in many ways. (Lately, threats on moving reps to other locations) creating a terrible environment.
Everyone in stores is burned out. You can see it on their faces.
Quota's are just high enough for you to hit them; if you operate at 100% every day of the month, or get very lucky with multi-line orders you may hit their goal. Not everyone does this nor can do this; If a person can do this, said person will more than likely experience burn out very quickly. Also, if you get to 100% they will expect you to just keep on doing it (the more you do the more profit for them, as well more on their paycheck). Also more profit for you, but don't forget about all the charge-backs you may incur (just for doing your job). Which then means making it up next month, which means that goalpost moves further upwards.
Usually they will say if under 80% they will put you on a performance improvement plan. It is then your job to fix that under 80% for 3 months to get off of PIP. If on PIP 3 months in a row then you do not have a job. Sounds pretty darn unhealthy to me and feels pretty darn unhealthy. I used to feel like this company cared about its people for the longest time. Then the higher ups had a big freak out moment and changed everything back this way very quickly because their jobs were at stake. Now we see this wonderful failing system we have in place.
Let's not forget mention the HUGE downfall of many American jobs in customer service. Many hard working American people just lost their job because the company wanted and could do it cheaper. I'm sure many lives were ruined. But, the company saved a buck and that is what it is all about right?! Just don't forget about your ethics alright!
I truly hope you all the best. May the odds forever be in your favour.
If you worked in retail before if you do not hit 100 percent of sales revenue is it a write up?
Quotas in December have always been outrageous. I’m in B2B sales.
