Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

People are desperate to get out

I’m patiently waiting for the right opportunity but that gets harder every week. I’m very close to working a job at a pay cut just to have peace in my life.

I'm in the exact same boat. I recently got an offer that's 15% bellow what I make now, and I'm seriously considering accepting it. That’s the reality Fiserv has created for its employees.

If you stay at Fiserv you will make less in five years than the person who took a fifteen percent pay cut.

Maybe if you score as "Exceeds Everything" you can get a 2.3% adjustment instead of just 2%.

Another thing to consider if you take a pay cut is other companies typically give more then 1-2% annual raises as well. You'll get your foot in the door somewhere else and hopefully be back to where you were shortly and have peace of mind, which is worth it.

I was forced out due to my location being closed and unwilling to move. I took a lower level job in the same industry and the workload is less, stress is less and I got a 6% merit increase. Best thing that ever happened to me, honestly.

I quit 4 months ago for a job with a 14% pay cut. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. So much more to a job than just the paycheck. I’m actually treated like a capable adult now.

15% pay cut? You crazy? How long is it going to take to get you back to where you are currently? 3-5 years?

Many have and are happier for it. In this job market and for getting out of Fiserv take it. You can use your current and new skills to get more money when the market improves.

Get in the door with new company and then ask for more monies should you bust your a-s. May or may not work but anything other than this barren hellscape called Fiserv. Franky B already found the oasis and it’s just a mirage to the rest of us.

Normally I'd say trying to dig yourself out of a step back like that should be done rarely and very carefully, only for an otherwise perfect role. However, as a means to get out of here with an otherwise sh--e job market, it's probably your best move.

Yes, I think you should consider accepting it, fiserv is a short term work place.
