All of us merchandisers got a good dressing down today from our manager ( who got is a@@ chewed) for having low stock on the floor ! This all coming from the same people who have pulled all merchandisers to CPU every day for the last week . Today I got to work in my area a whole 2 hours before getting pulled to cpu , then got a talking to about low stock ! Why can’t they hire more people during Christmas , someone that has worked there a while told me they used to do that ! I’ve only been there for 5 months and I really don’t feel like “ one of the team”. They all said we would be like

Management new bonus multiplier is tied up with club pick up. So that’s why they let the store fall apart but never club pick up. Also ask yourself, why cut hours during the holidays. During this time we will hit all goals for big a bonus. The company cut hours so store management, regional management, and so on all get giant bonuses. Off of the hard back breaking work of the hourly associates. But hourly’s bonuses are based on Sales, Membership Sales, Accidents, and Mx voices. Let’s circle back to them cutting hours during the holidays, customers will come and spend no mater what. This the quarter we will make the most money. Why cut hours? Answer is, so we don’t hit Mx voice score. So right away we get a big chunk of the bonus taken away. It’s all an evil game played by the people running everything from Bentonville.

This is jus one of the many reasons I left Sams more than 2 years ago. I feel bad for you but I can tell you that for the 30 plus years I was there , there was never a moment when the workers were not blamed for whatever problem existed. Of course you got blamed for low stock levels even though you did not have time to stock !!! Listen close... IT WILL NEVER CHANGE FOR YOU. Managers NEVER apologize and ALWAYS blame you. They send you somewhere and its your fault for going. Gaslight Gaslight Gaslight is their mantra. NEVER get too excited if they praise you because soon they will slam you. DO NOT under any circumstances let them see you being proud of or happy with your own work !! Of Course its ok to be proud of your own work but dont let them see it because as soon as you do they will hurry to your area to nit pic about some insanely small thing. Also if you defend yourself vigorously on any issue they will double down on making you miserable. .... My advice for you is this. Leave and find another job. If you stay become a teamleader and then a manager as soon as you can and then leave and take that experience with you. Also do yourself a favor and take all the free college that Walmart offers you as an associate. So here is the plan for you. This very day begin working towards becoming a team lead. At the same time get enrolled in the free college plan they offer you. Four years from now walk out with a degree and management experience as fast as you can. During this four years say yes to every opportunity there you have. Always act like your managers can walk on water. Never defend yourself to a manager unless its a hill worth dying on because you will. Pretend that every day at Sams is the best day of your life. Follow this advice for the next 4 years and you will be able to leave that p-o p-o place with your head held high and headed for bigger and better things..... I wish I had done these things... Hind sight...
