“Wow you’re d-mb.
If you said you’d move this doesn’t affect you so you have no place to call it BS. You’re on borrowed time per your own decision.
Keep dreaming about severance because you won’t get it. You not moving is a termination event with cause. FAFO.”

I’m not moving. I learned to lie like our leadership. I’m not on borrowed time because this place is as d-mb as a box of rocks. I might change my race and gender in HR One Stop. I might self-identify this week. I might file a CBOE complaint about something I saw. I might get someone angry at me and verbally hurt my feelings. I might feel unsafe for some super sensitive reason. I might do a lot of things that AT&T would not want to retaliate against me for. You are not in a position to stop me from living my dream here at AT&T. I can continue working here for another 7 years if I feel like it. Trust me, the joke is on them. The move date will come and go and I will still have a job here. Wave 3, Wave 4, Waive all you want, just don’t waive your farts in my direction.

The several posts shared regarding the NJ severance laws are great to hear. I was aware of the law but this is the first time I’m hearing the company recognizes the law and is taking action to abide by it. Great news for employees in NJ!

NJ law says they need 90 day written notice. Notice was on 11/22.

NJ WARN act also has different severance policies. 1 week/year of service with no limit. So anyone with more than 26 years will get more severance than the normal company policy.

I was told the company is grouping people based on years of service so as to not have to give the extended severance to long-timers for months they hit WARN act thresholds. So some people were let go in December without the WARN act and others were extended to skirt things like this. All told, there are layoffs ever month and people are waiting in line for their chance to leave.

Some or all of the NJ folks were impacted in my round (12/13 last day) but due to state law, are able to stay until 2/20.

NJ law says they need 90 day written notice. Notice was on 11/22.

So these aren’t “new” layoffs. These people already know their date is Feb.

AT&T reported to the state of NJ (warn act) that they will be laying off 51 people in the Bedminster location on 2/20/25.

“OP here. Folks that aren’t moving that are part of wave 3 that were told June have now been pushed up to February”

Bull$hit. I am Wave 3 and told June because that Legg couldn’t be a Chief Officer. He has no commanding skills and so he is unable to accommodate us in his $tupid game of “shake down the employees”. I dont have to report to the office until June and now since I lied about moving I dont even have to go into the local office. Funniest thing yet, I will get to WFH and probably still get severance because the dummy will see that I called his bluff and realize he doesnt have enough room and lay me off in May 2025. Win, Win, Win.

After the March 2024 letter the company stopped putting dates on the letters. DesRoaches had told his people that they would remain on the books 6 months after receipt of the FTW letter, and then they would be severed from the company. However, when the June letters came out there was no date. Apparently, some of the leaders wanted to be able to go back on their word and so they were advised not to put dates in the letters. This gave the company flexibility. I am guessing that continues to happen in the current wave. Nothing is done in writing that could weaken AT&Ts position.

“Any idea the layoff date for those of us who signed the contract to NOT move?”

Maybe that’s what he was referencing, I was originally told December but maybe that was pushed back?
Not sure now.

“You apparently hit enter too soon after writing your title. Thank you for absolutely no information.”

Yes, probably just fear mongering.
We already knew some people got Feb dates, some got June dates.

If they moved dates for people who already signed paperwork to move June 30th they will have to offer severance for those who can’t move by Feb and agreed to move June 30th.

It’s an employment contract.

Where are you getting this information?
Are you saying if they gave you a June 30th date now they’re moving it to February?

How is that fair for people who are actually trying to move?
