Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The level of incompetence is staggering

So today I get an email about the Dallas site. They have told him not to report to the site because they’re not enough desks & parking.

This is pretty basic math: number of employees = number of desks.

How could you possibly mess this up?

" If it does happen in another location, that is a lawsuit since T has already been warned and they did not take action to keep it from happening..."

I happen to know that altercation DID happen as stated (at least one, maybe more...)

That said, you're embellishing here. "T has already been warned..."

Who at T, has been warned of what, by whom exactly?

Yes, I thought so. Stop being wishful. You know that was just chalked up to derelicts fighting in the office... no leadership was "warned" about anything.

I sat at one of those "personalized" desks and was confronted by a DEI EEO black female who ordered me a WASP to vacate or she would call security. She did, they showed up and tried to pull me out of my chair that I had been sitting in since 6am. I screamed in pain, fell to the floor and visited my MD next door neighbor at his office. He wrote me a Dr's note, prescribed PT and I wrote up the situation per my boss requirement for the accident report. I've corrected the (accident report) with AS--ULT REPORT on company property by another employee and co-worker. My attorney is filing as--ult on the company, the guard and the black female employee who showed up and 9:30am.
I'm enjoying my time off and hopefully the money that I'll collect from my settlement.
I recommend to sit where you want, record events if possible, note witnesses and most importantly two things:
a. See a Physician immediately
b. Hire an attorney
and hide out at home. Make sure you are not doing any physical work and walk with a limp, hold your back, walk slow, take frequent rest stops, put your arm in a sling or wear a neck brace and MILK the INJURY.

No Sh-t Sherlock. Look no further than the T Mo deal, the DTV deal and the TW deal. Three of the biggest corporate clusters of all time.

" He'd moved in with his d-mb service anniversary plaque on display, pictures of family, etc. Notified CRE. They told me to find another room. They'd tried to talk to him before multiple times but he wouldn't give in."

Agree that CRE is inept and won't actually DO anything, if push comes to shove.

But I would relish that situation you laid out. Because my next email would be to the CRE person's Boss, copying my Boss's Boss, the offender's chain of command, etc. I would keep escalating to and beyond the VP level if necessary. Because as you described it, that is complete BS and completely unacceptable.

I would also stand in the room and refuse to leave, all day if necessary, stating I had reserved the room. Let him try and remove me. That wouldn't work out well for him (I'm pretty jacked).

Good luck. CRE is equally incompetent. Reserved a focus room that was available in the system. Went to use it at my assigned time, only to find someone was using it as his personal office. He'd moved in with his d-mb service anniversary plaque on display, pictures of family, etc. Notified CRE. They told me to find another room. They'd tried to talk to him before multiple times but he wouldn't give in. Given that, CRE didn't even bother to take the room out of inventory. Expect more of the same. CRE won't actually enforce anything.

"Leaving nameplates and other disposable personal effects at a drop-in workstation to keep others out. "

I don't want a confrontation. But I come in early, and I will plop right down at one of those places. If someone comes later and says something or gets nasty about it, there could be a problem, yes. In my location when this started, CRE sent an email out to everyone assigned to the location reminding everyone THERE IS NO ASSIGNED SEATING , and that those items should be removed. That did seem to help. You may want to contact them now to let them know what is going on.

It is the "Squid Game" show at AT&T. The first event is "musical chairs".

"Maybe a fight or two coming."

It happened in Atlanta. If it does happen in another location, that is a lawsuit since T has already been warned and they did not take action to keep it from happening . . . especially if it happens in California!

Working in San Ramon. With 5 day RTO coming, ppl are marking their territory. Leaving nameplates and other disposable personal effects at a drop-in workstation to keep others out. Maybe a fight or two coming.

There are floors full of desks and chairs in these buildings. Stored from the days of old. I’ve seen them. Headcount used to be multiple times what it is now. They don’t throw stuff away it just gets moved to a storage floor

Well, Corey says there is room, because when everyone has to go in, not everybody will be in.

You cannot make this up.
