Yeah, you could be a prem tech doing prem tech work but not getting group 1 craft pay like the BFS techs who took our prem tech work are getting.
The OP is obviously a CWA or IBEW tech in the Midwest. Most likely a tech in Business Field Services (CS&O-Chad Townes) who is upset about having to perform non-designed broadband work. I say get over it. Been that way for several years and the fiber broadband work ain’t going away any time soon. It’s also one of the few growth sectors across business product line. You’re getting group 1 craft pay for prem tech work. Things could be much worse.
Yep. No money for lower employee cost healthcare. No money for better savings plan contributions. No money for tools & supplies. Just money for headcount & to pay BFS techs to do Prem/Wire tech work.
