Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is MPLS, number one innovation team

They carbon copied

  1. Brocade switch and create andiamo
  2. Juniper Qfabric and created insimie
  3. Amaon nitrox card and created pensando

Andiamo is dead
Insimie ACI is gone.
Pensando will su-k.

Is there a single instance where they are the first to enter into the market. How come they are innovative first of all? Then how come they are #1?

If they are #1, they could have converted Cisco from networking company to a cloud company. See where Oracle is now.

...while breeding engineering talent...

I'm guessing you meant "bleeding" but there wasn't any blood in the stone. I spent time fixing code in NX-OS and I didn't see evidence of talent in its creation.

Their innovation was figuring out how to enrich themselves many times over, with zero accountability for long term value creation for Cisco shareholders, all while breeding engineering talent while demorsalizing those internal engineers and product people with truly innovative ideas who couldn’t get funding (or rewards) because they were thwarted by MPL, but not S, because she was a hanger on and no one really listened to her bluster…..

What I understood is that they are #1 innovation team for Cisco, not for the world.

"Cisco is an AI company now. Without Cisco, there is no AI."

Winner of the best post of the day. LMAO.

every product the mpls brain trust put out was unfinished cr-p that had to be refined over YEARS of product improvements and updates. this led to constantly burning customers for jumping onboard with cisco way too soon, which helps explain why trust in cisco products started eroding way before arista or juniper made inroads into cisco switching.

In fact Nexus(nx-os) ... kept cisco going [bug fixing] in 2012-2020 time period.

FTFY.

BTW, what market segment was NX-OS in as Arista grew massively in the data center with operating margins now well over twice that of Cisco?

If Cisco grew a competent in house development team before writing IOS-XR, SAN-OS, NX-OS and IOS-XE maybe they'd actually have one working operating system by now.

No true innovation since 2012 at Cisco. Cisco in decline when JC missed cloud. They also missed L7 firewall, SD-WAN, collab and AI on CR watch. Too many initiatives, too complex licenses, too poor quality, too late to market, too much nepotism.

Is meraki a MPLS initiative?

Cisco invested in following & more companies to try their luck :) but big flops are
1 Scientific Atlanta
2 Tandberg
3 Flip
4 AddDynamics
5 Splunk
I absolutely agree with this.
When compared to the above acquisitions MPLS was a huge blessing for cisco.
In fact Nexus(nx-os) and Meraki kept cisco going in 2012-2020 time period.
