Field technicians are about the safest jobs in AT&T. T needs hands-on personnel to physically install the equipment at the customer site. Perhaps, down the road in say 5-7 years from now, that will change, but for now we're in pretty good shape! No fear of layoffs here!
let me see your ai climb a pole or pump out sewer gas
Oh no!!
But anyway
Don't think your job is safe just because you are a union member. Many companies are reducing staff due to recent contracts. Boeing, UPS, and others are out to reduce employees across the board. Keep your resume up to date. Use any available training offered by AT&T to keep your skills fresh.
