Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Affected. I was given little to no information, can anyone help?

I was given almost no information behind reasoning. It was a vague one liner about restructure. My division is doing extremely well. I have never had performance related issues. In fact I was doing really well at my job. I am a remote employee, Was that a factor?

I’m in the dark now as my manager has not reached out. Any info on oils be helpful

Are we able to negotiate severance?

Definitely because you were a remote employee. Be glad you are now out of that toxic workplace

I was in the office 4 days a week, 8+ hours a day. I didn't have any performance issues and I was managing a team of 7 FTE's and 12 Contractors and doing Global engineering and support on the Linux platform and after 9+ years, i wasn't needed anymore. These layoff are so Frank Bisignano can improve profits and increase FI stock prices and get another "exceeded $100 Million" compensation package. There are no deals in the order pipeline because nothing Fiserv delivers works for the client so Fiserv is dumping people so the profits stay on trajectory .

Remote is not a target. My whole department is remote and we only lost a few,

Are you in commuting distance of an office location (approx one hour drive or less) if so RTO may have been an option. In the past if people were not near an office they’ve been offered chance to relocate but IDK if they’re still doing that and anyway it might not be viable for your personal situation.

Either way if it was an option they would have mentioned it.

During layoffs they get rid of who they want to.

Remote, RTO and higher paid individuals. There was one person on our team I didn't know he was on our team as I never saw him on a call until the past 2 weeks. But he is at a level 8 or 9. I am at an 11 actually DOING the work. My manager has not liked me since I challenged her over the summer on a leadership issue. 2nd WORST manager I have ever had.
TOXIC:

  • would interrupt people
  • chastise people in front of others
  • one time I had to write an email to the SR. VP over her and she responded with "that is not correct" and proceeded to apologize. I emailed her privately with the proof of my information. She never apologized or corrected with Sr. VP. (That happened often)
  • hung up on a training call that one of our team mates was charged with doing, she didn't like the information being given (she didn't take the time to check it first), told everyone that the call was over and just hung up. The kicker? Our team mate was right with the information. NO apology! People were actually texting "this is uncomfortable."
  • Stopped me from sharing my skills with team mates
  • talks about teammates with other teammates and LIES

And guess what....she was just promoted! Fiserv is a joke.

Does anyone have anymore info about layoffs in GBS? Had there been communications sent out? I am completely in the dark. Why did these cuts occur?

GBS. RSA, were you in sales in SMB? Or a support role? Brutal. Seriously, just ask you to RTO would be better.

I don't understand. For YEARS now, Fiserv has been saying that remote employees will be let go if they do not return to or relocate to an office. The RIFs have been coming in waves, again, for YEARS now. I'm sorry you were let go, but are you serious that you missed that message? (By the way, I'm remote, so it's just a matter of time for me, too.)

sapience, badge records, and remote work status are the factors to make the decision.

I know multiple people that were let because they were remote. We had one that was not coming into the office or only there for a few hours a day. He was warned but didn't care or thought excuses would prevail

You can try. You being remote definitely put you on the hit list.

I was in GBS, RSA.

If remote was reasoning, why didn’t they just ask us to RTO, vs just getting rid of us? I’m so, so confused :(

I think remote was a factor.. easy target

Sorry to hear. Based on what you describe I don’t think being remote was a factor, as much as probably the only factor.

Hope you get back on your feet very, very soon.
