That’s a phrase long in the past - Work-Life Balance. They were so concerned that you were working the appropriate time and having your life as well. That isn’t expected anymore. When I asked what was expected when a Service Manager or a Project Manager work a late night cut, or are on an outage call until 1am or 2am? Are we expected to get a few hours sleep and get up for 530am to be in the office by 7am that morning for our 8 hour day? They honestly had no answer and I was told that it was a great question to bring up during my VPs town hall.

Work/Life balance was a thing when people actually went to work.
Now, lots of people don't even go in to work, they do their laundry, mow the yard, wash the car, vacuum, wash dishes, cook, workout, watch tv, etc., etc., etc., and they whine and cry about work/life balance. Maybe they should try adding an appropriate amount of work(AT WORK) to their day.
"I’ve done the back of the napkin yearly costs and it’s at $10K a year to work $7K a year in tolls plus roughly $3K in gas."
Seems to me like time to move........
You have Work-Life Balance and then you have them costing you money to work. I’m now forced to go to another state for work causing me to pay multiple tolls as well as mileage. I’ve done the back of the napkin yearly costs and it’s at $10K a year to work $7K a year in tolls plus roughly $3K in gas.
same for Carbon Emissions global warming is no longer an issue whoever controls the media controls the mind
Because work is life. #DallasBound.
Your mistake is picking up the call. Mute the phone and sleep.
that's because working at AT&t is more like life imprisonment.
They don’t care. I’m in a similar situation and had those conversations already. I got told 8hrs in office 3x per week min. Best just find another job. It’s what I’m doing. Let them find another su---r to take my role.
As more advanced presence metrics became available, it was clear too many employees were completely focused on life with very little work. RTO has been the result ro get employees back to work.

“You Matter” is rarely a thing, either. Because you DON’T matter.
It's Work-Work balance.
