Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

You know that opening scene in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl?

The one where Jack steps off the sinking boat onto the dock just before it slips underwater?

I feel like that's how I timed my retirement with a severance package from T.

It's going down, and I'm just lucky enough to have made it to dry land.

Anyone else?

I was almost there . . . if Stank would not have taken away the healthcare bridge for retirees I would have taken the severance this year and left. Now, the company gets to keep me for another 4 years. I wonder which was more expensive for the company . . . the medicare bridge or paying me an additional 7 years.

So, YOU didn't time anything.

You were surplussed.

You'd still be on the te-t if it was up to you.

And you didn't get a "package". You got your severance.
