I heard that Clarke has some serious health issues, like an aneurysm or brain tumor , and that’s why he retired.
Bender has been being groomed for this role for the last few years. Starnes had the clout and respect even of Billybob and he made it happen.
Amazed a HBBT retiring and actually being replaced with HBBT. Miracles do exist.
It will be interesting to see if Mo sticks around. He seem to be the heir apparent to Starnes. Bender has always been a favorite of the BBT crowd. Amazing he has survived the Suntrust purge.

The only surprise here is that he lasted this long. There has been a systematic cleansing of hBBT people for years. The simple fact of the matter, if you are hBBT, you have no future in this organization.

Brad is 100% qualified. He spent years in the credit risk space and has very in depth knowledge of all of the lending lines of the bank. He is one of the smartest and most capable leaders that Truist has on board. He’ll do great.
