As I see the announcements of some really good Nike HR pursuing external opportunities, I am sad. My organization does not comprehend what they have lost and continue to promote undeserving individuals. Recent appointments only demonstrate that current HR leadership do not value good leadership or capability and value people who just talk and do no real work. One of recent promoted appointees has had ER cases on how he treats women and other poor leadership behaviors and he still made it to the top. Will anyone raise a complaint ever again?

MM is one of the most toxic leaders I have ever met. Her talent decisions within HR are to promote sycophantic pleasers. Anyone good threatens her, and is gone. She doesn’t want innovators or in any way a diverse team of thinkers, or those with divergent and uncommon experience - diversity to her is purely representation of POC and women.
HR needs a new leader stat. She was Elliott’s HRVP during his NA days, so the glasses might be rosy, but hopefully he sees the need for change given her contribution to the challenges of the past four years.
MM needs to go
- Mm. mm. Mmmmmmmmmm.
Starts at the top. Especially in HR. Wasn’t great with DA, but MM has had the reigns for 7.5 years now and look where that’s got us. Try being in her org. It is so incredibly painful.
Yeah, decided to pursue external opportunities normally means they were asked to leave. HR is very much partly responsible for the lack of good leadership today as they have done nothing in the past 5+ years outside telling you to call HR Direct/People Solutions.
What is an ER case?
Horrible leaders and horrible company, don’t be surprised.
His boss exhibits same tendencies and it is like for like.
