Severance Package for RIFs

Since it seems another purge is coming... what's a typical severance package look like in these parts? Any chance of accelerated vesting?

That is the great thing about contract workers - no benefits, ownership of anything, and hourly pay. No chance of going perm - though who would want to. So no severance cost at all. Let the contract term expire and VOILA- another empty desk.

I was let go in 2022 for refusing to relocate. They did an accelerated vesting of the shares that would have vested in 6 months. All of the others with longer vesting were forfeited.

Severance is typically 2 weeks per year of service up to 26 weeks total.

Severance is not guaranteed, they might wack your neighbors and keep you on remotely. They won't know what is going on and blow smoke until you quit because all the staff around you is trashed and you're left holding the bag, overworked and under valued.
