Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Cigna Medicare to HCSC thread - "Openly Discuss"

This is a space created for the thousands of Cigna Medicare employees who are transitioning to HCSC. Speak your mind or ask questions about this situation outside a company censored environment.

It's happening! We have to accept it and say goodbye to Cigna. We also have to openly discuss and learn what's next.

How is the pension plan calculated? Is it a percentage of your salary?

If you search HCSC on Iris, there are real estate lists out there under the manager folders.

I’m finding it very frustrating we are not being told about office locations/real estate going with the sale/future for WAH. We were told in the last transition hours meeting that October 28 we would know more. Well that came and went. I know of someone who posed these questions this week to the transition team email and their response was “HCSC had some last minute edits, which we have not seen, and they have asked us to hold off on the communication. We understand how frustrating this is and we have escalated the issues being caused by this delay to our senior leadership. We hope to have more information for you soon.” We deserve better than this from both companies. Our lives have been put on hold. If I’m going to have to start commuting to an office, let me know. I and many others have daycare/transportation/scheduling adjustments which may need to happen. I just want ample time to get things in place if needed. If Cigna or HCSC is going to let me go, just do that too. We just simply deserve answers.

Does anyone know if HCSC has a severance plan?

Take this all with a grain of salt, but this is what I have read. It's hard to get confirmation, but from what I can piece together from reading HCSC employees comments, it looks like we would get:

  • Less PTO days
  • Less PTO rollover (16 hours HCSC vs 56 hours Cigna).
  • Less 401K match (I think they match up to 5% compared to Cigna up to 6%)
  • Gain Pension plan (I think is about ~$3K a year for each year of service.)

I find it ridiculous that we have to finalize our Cigna open enrollment within the next 2 days and they can’t even give us an overview of HCSC open enrollment yet.

Has anyone confirmed the HCSC 401k employer match and details on the pension? I also read that HCSC only has 14 PTO days +5 sick days (can be used as PTO) which means I’m decreasing from 23 days down to 19 days.
