Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Are we ever going to change for the better?

A lot of us were hopeful with the change at the top. We have all been fed up for a long time with the way Nike’s been declining. I guess the built up frustration was the reason we put a lot of hope into just a glimpse at willingness to turn the ship around. I haven’t felt any change yet, and I’m beginning to be skeptical about the future being any different than before. I hope I’m wrong.

I hope that EH makes changes to the senior leadership team and brings in people that he trusts to get the company back on track. There is a LONG road ahead.

First of all, EH has only been in charge for less than 3 weeks!

Second, if you can't see how much better that guy operates than JD, you aren't paying attention. In 4 years, JD rarely made live appearances and hung out with regular employees, much less spoke like a real person. In contrast, EH rarely speaks off a script and he's been showing up all over campus. On Tuesday, he showed up at the Global Tech All-Hands, then spent about an hour hanging out with employees later in the day at the World Series patio party.

Third, there's already been organizational changes and there's more to come.

I'm not sure what else to expect ar such a large company in so little time.

Has working at Nike really been that bad? I've been reading up on some of the forums and it just sounds like most people are frustated with how the company has been for the last couple of years.
