Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Should I apply for a job at Humana

I popped over here to see what is up with Humana. I applied for a few roles and am now wondering if I should just withdraw and delete the job account.

If you know what to expect and want work experience… go for it! Most teams are understaffed, micro-managed, and overworked. Little support for most new hires. However experience can be helpful on your resume.

Like others have mentioned, if you get hired, just understand that Humana isn't a company that you can retire from. Layoffs happen constantly here, so just be mindful of that. They offer tuition reimbursement, so gain as many certifications as you can, finish up your college degree, etc... learn as much as you can in order to gain new skills and increase your experience, and then leave after a couple of years.

Take the opportunity as a learning experience.

Know that layoffs happen constantly but that is not unlike many other industries and companies today.

Keep your resume updated, contribute heavily to your rainy day fund, pay off all possible debt to prepare for a layoff.

Good luck.

See it for what it is: an opportunity. Learn as much as you can, then move to the next opportunity.
