Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Badge Reports and Sapience

The next round of layoffs will be driven by badge reports and sapience.
Per manahement, badge reports must show 9+ hours per day or you will be fired. The daily average needs to show at least 9 hours per day. If there is not enough work shown in sapience, fired.
Fiserv does not care about the workers, leave when you can before you get fired. First data people have ruined a good place to work.

If they fire me for that it will be fantastic. Either I will be entitled to unemployment or I will start a class action lawsuit since I have documentation and can prove that there are workers not doing sh-t that weren't fired while I am doing their work and they also have a mouse clicker. Basically they are not using legal and fair measurements for their decision.

Can confirm. A manager on another team in my org emphasized core hours being 8 - 5 pm and uppers are pulling reports and asking people to account for sapience inactivity if it doesn’t add up to 8 productive hours.

Sapience isn't even accurate

If the assumption is that you meet a metric goal and that should magically equate to productivity, why does Fiserv need managers anymore to determine how you are doing? Whipping people with a stick never works out well Frank. I know your mentors growing up were the Goombahs and you wanna be accepted in to the Wall Street elite crowd but in the end your just a thug wannabe. Great legacy.

Recruiters are using the lack of sapience like monitoring at other companies as an enticement to leave. It’s literally part of their sales pitch. Just go work for a contractor. They now pay better, have benefits, allow remote work, and don’t treat you like you’re embezzling time every time you go to the bathroom.

I eat my lunch at my desk. When Sapience says I worked 8 hours, it is working nonstop. Collaboration at your own risk. Ask anyone who wants to talk to you for more than 5 minutes to set up a meeting and call in.

on badge report more than once will be terminated.

less than 75% attend mon thru thu
less than 6.5 hours mon thru thu
fri not considered

your manger unless VP+ will not have access to data and only informed when people are on the list

come into office mon thru thu
badge 8 hours

ex.
8-5 w/ 1 hour break badged out, also 7-4
9-5 without badging out for break, also 8-4

Why would your manager know anything about senior management making arbitrary layoff decisions? Do you think there is internal communication at this company?

Honestly guys just care less. It really makes execs mad and they are usually so self absorbed or gobbling boots that they are really easy to game and 9/10 will never find out. In 10 years time you will be proud you stood up for yourself regardless of the consequences and you’ll forget most of these dunces names. Life goes on, no job is forever and you have to live with yourself for the rest of your life so don’t take their sh-t, the way they run their company screams insecurity and scarcity do you really want to be a part of that?

If we are forced to take a lunch break then take it.Block that time off in your calendar and accept no meetings during that time. Instead use that time applying for other jobs.

Guess what? If your salaried, working 9 hrs doesn't mean jack. You don't get OT. I'm being paid 40 hrs and that's all they'll get as agreed.

Depending on how you want to consider the "official" start of the 40hr work week it'd be plenty safe to say that in 1938 when the DoL instituted the ovetertime for over 40hrs rule that businesses tried to avoid that extra payout and would limit you to 40hrs. Prior to that companies could, and did, literally work people non stop till they died.

History shows that companies, especially those run by people like frank, will abuse and take advantage of others at every opportunity if you let them.

Grow a pair to not give a darn. Americans have worked an 8 hour day since - well - maybe forever. Have the guts to look out for yourself, stick a finger up managements nether-part and do your job. Look for another one too and then bid Dodge City farewell.

What decade are you operating in? This is absolutely ridiculous. You are not talking about manufacturing lines - these are professionals. Just ridiculous. Do not drink frank’s koolaid. His anatomy is driving this - very small.

Nothing you posted says I HAVE to take a break in the middle of my work day. Zip. I’m exempt they don’t give a damn when I take my “break” if that’s after 8 hours in office I am not sitting in some office cuz some power hungry jag wants 9 hours in his precious tax break. I’m plenty chill and I probably kick out twice the work you do.

Not every state mandates a lunch break. Regardless, I have to grab lunch most often while on a call.

Wull akchully,,,ya kinda do: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/state/meal-breaks

And who says you have to "sit" for an hour anyway?
Use your imagination, creativty, and/or initiative with that "free time" in the middle of your work day and get something GOOD going for yourself.

Take a break for whatever helps you through your day: eat, meditate, shop, plan for some travel, contemplate, learn something new, apply to other jobs, listen to a podcast, or just chill.
Yeah, go with the just chill option.
You seem to be really needing it.

You don’t have to take a lunch nimrod , it’s unpaid. I don’t have to sit anywhere for an hour for this company when I’m not being PAID

8 hours is the standard amount of actual work hours in a work day. You're racking up 9 hours per day badged total, due to tacking-on your "additional" (unpaid) lunch hour. Standard work hours are 8-5 with an hour off for lunch = 40 hours paid per week. Are you new to business or just new to working an honest day's in-office hours?

Su-k it up, buttercup.
That's why they call it WORK.

Four hours after you badge-in in the morning.

One hour at lunch.

Four hours before you badge-out in the afternoon.

4 + 1 + 4 = 9.

First data people are great. It is the former JPMC management team that is damaging every company they touch.

Where do you get 9? It’s 8 and has been for some time. Sapience is a joke and rarely accurate, with no way to account for actual collaboration in the moment as not everything is a scheduled meeting. WTH?
