Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

JR Slum City

What happened to a focus on rebuilding culture? Not allowing g adults to have a dedicated workspace, giving them lockers like some schoolage hustle, having them fight for a place to work between every meeting... WHEN THEY ARE REQUIRED TO COME IN is preposterous.

GPS and BOE, this is a mess. Most of the people I know are NOT in a neighborhood near people they work with and their leaders have told them already to sit wherever they want in the building.

FAIL. Why dig the heels in on this ABW garbage? It. Has. Failed.

Why hold desks for the 40% of the campus that doesn’t come in? This is an HR and leader issue. Either enforce 4/1 and give desks, or don’t enforce 4/1 and have freestyle or whatever. Too many leaders making their own rules to avoid hard conversations with their employee.. (cough.. friends)

This is another MM issue. “Look what I did.” “Quick, look, wellness week!” … Maxim award winner. Sappy LI post. Rinse, repeat.

All this is wild when I walk in the office to see 3rd floor victory COMPLETELY empty but stocked with desks, chairs, and monitors everyday

WD&C needs to read the room …. fail, fail, fail, and more fail. Open office is d-mb, having a ‘home’ matters to morale, and is proven to be more efficient and productive. Study after study concluded that before y’all ever started remodeling buildings. If need more desks, put in more desks. Honesty is always the best policy

Ita not about who has the least. It's about ALL of us having what we need yo do our work. We each deserve a desk, a home base. Not all of us bounce ftom meeting to meeting. MANY of us need focused stretches of hours, days to get work done. We should not come back from 30 minutes away and have no desk.

Also, this ABW is NOT the Nike norm. This INSANITY has only been forced on certain groups and buildings.

1 chair for every 8.63 people.
No lights.
Crooked, wobbly kindergarten-sized tables.
Fat crayons.
Rounded-tipped scissors.
Finger paints.
[No paste. We might eat that.]

@zsa+1vesC0rf, entitled? I think most would agree that when half of the company has an assigned seat, the expectation should be that we all have one. The disparity is clear with what groups have assigned seats and what other groups are expected to embrace the idea that open seating is the right thing to do. If it was so great, wouldn't the company do this across the board in all buildings and teams?

@zsa+1vesC0rf But do you have a place to sit regularly? If so, you are the privileged.
