Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Verint Desktop Process Analytics?

I work from home and had Verint DPA installed on my work laptop in a recent software update. I'm feeling paranoid about the timing, given the layoff scares recently. Is this normal? What exactly does CVS want to monitor using this software? Who can see what's being monitored? Should I be cautious of anything?

I hate Verint. It's not accurate. Models show show you everything thing you did that day - if you used Chrome, YouTube or watching Netflix. Anyways they use to measure our idle time. Idle time can't be above 20%. You can be working your a-s off & still be over 20%. Doesn't work. Also, I shut my entire system down every night. When I open Verint it looks like I was on all night that's how I know it doesn't work

Yep it measures your productivity time. I’ve gone bouts with my management team because verint was not accurate. I won. Just make sure what is getting reported is actually what you are doing.

Aternity is only for IT diagnostics and seeing background processes and apps/PC health, verint captures your screen though and is for call center type stuff

Aternity is the equivalent of this that records everything, as well as screenshots your screen. You can check if it's active by checking the processes running in the background. Zscaler also tracks a lot of data, as well as a variety of Microsoft tools, so they indeed have a large arsenal of tools to track you active. I agree that corporate employees are not tracked, until they want to or are doing spot checks.

I firmly believe the level of employee “surveillance” is directly proportional to your job grade/position. Entry-level, hourly call center employees, for example, are closely monitored and watched for productivity in addition to security threats, whereas corporate salaried professionals are just monitored for security threats and are largely left alone. I’m in the latter group and have never heard of myself or any of my peers being watched, and I don’t have any visibility into whatever data these apps are collecting on myself or my directs. But as others have mentioned, never assume any level of privacy while using a company issued device.

When I worked for another payer they had a similar program for WAH employees and they could see everything. Key strokes counted, applications used, searches, EVERYTHING. Think of it like when IT remotes into your computer. I have not used this application, but sounds very similar.

With that said, like below poster, do not use your work laptop/desktop for anything other than work. Be mindful that they have the ability to see all that you do, but not necessarily watching you in real time, unless they want too.

here’s more information about the program from AI… A lot of companies are using these now. Just assume everything‘s being watched, big brother! remember.. never do any personal work on your company, laptop- tablet device. I don’t work for CVS.. not an easy job market, good luck.

Verint Desktop and Process Analytics (DPA) is a powerful tool designed to enhance productivity, compliance, and overall efficiency within an organization. Here are some key functionalities:
Employee Activity Monitoring: Verint DPA captures real-time data on employee desktop activities, providing insights into how employees use various applications and systems12. This helps managers understand how time is spent and identify areas for improvement.
Process Mapping and Analysis: The tool maps events on employee desktops to specific processes, uncovering bottlenecks and inefficiencies2. This allows organizations to optimize workflows and reduce costs.
Real-Time Alerts and Guidance: Verint DPA can trigger alerts based on specific desktop activities. For example, it can remind employees to complete a task or notify supervisors of critical events3. This feature helps ensure compliance and improves service quality.
Performance Metrics: By tracking time-stamped events, Verint DPA can measure the time taken to complete tasks and processes4. This data is valuable for setting benchmarks and improving overall performance.
Enhanced Quality Management: The tool tags recorded interactions with application metadata, enabling detailed search and retrieval. It also automatically scores interactions based on predefined rules, helping to maintain high-quality standards1.
These functionalities make Verint DPA a comprehensive solution for improving operational efficiency and employee performance.
