i really think its a d-mb move cause frontier has very little fiber run. They do have alot of cr-ppy copper DSL in their footprint. Not worth 20 billion. I guess just more d-mb moves by upper management to increase the debt.

@1ypf Hans was never at Vodafone. He was at Ericsson.
I’m reading a lot of id--ts comments, Verizon sold off CTF to offload the debt from Fiber construction and the Video part of FiOS. Video drowned Verizon and they did what they had to do. Verizon is buying back CTF with the debt being wiped out from the Frontier Bankruptcy. It was a smart move. Anything else besides CTF ain’t worth cr-p but cost Frontier very little to maintain. The only wild card is the current housing crisis in Florida and Texas. Tons of people struggling with there house payment in those 2 states.
Is there any chance Stratton will replace Hans. Stratton is an advocate for in-house IT, and a critic of Hans selling US workers out for off-shore vendors and h1-b. I’d come back if Stratton took the helm.
13 ups & no downs so far lol? post @1wqy+1vZxsDNO is criticizing the wireless folks actually ya know
Not only did we pay 20 billion for the acquisition, we inherited 8 billion in their debt as well. Rest easy as they say the deal will take over a year to complete.
Will this mean Frontier trucks will be rebranded with Verizon (again)?
@OP+1vZxsDNO, great question. You say ”alot of cr-ppy copper DSL”, and I think, access to ”a lot of existing Right of Way (ROW) easements”. A good contracted construction crew can handle the copper rip and replace, at a lower cost, in a timely manner.
Don’t forget, there will be big savings because of Open RAN at the towers. Will require fewer Field/Switch Techs and RF Engineers, once the tower is completely “virtualized”, and AI doing the RF Optimization. The better question is…when the opportunity presents itself, will you be ready?

The irony of you using D-mb when referring to the plant. PSA :The more you don’t know.
It's bad news for 10,000 Frontier employees. Enjoy this last Christmas with a paycheck.
Bad idea. Stock will drop. Heads will roll. We have enough area that needs fios. Finish what we already own.
John will not be hurting financially with 871,667 shares of Frontier Communications,

Hans (Vodafone) Nick Jeffery frontier (Vodafone)
nick told Hans to bail him out before they go bankrupt again
if the wireless folks don’t like it, that means it’s actually a good thing.
It’s all the haves vs the have nots.
TMo has or is acquiring MetroNet, speaking from Minnesota suburbs, Frontier v MetroNet FTTH has been a common activity in some areas.
Just playing the game to get access to more customers/consumers and have more access to resources (some being former assets as well..)
Never question our Dear Leader(s). They (he) knows what is best for our continued prosperity,
Stratton did not leave Verizon on good terms. There's no way he would have pushed this deal for Frontier unless it was a very large overpay.
