I have been at HPE for a few years now. Even my worst years I've got decent bonus but this time no bonus and no hike. Is this common for others too or am I on the next WFR list?

@fkwo then go back to Europe
I worked in storage for years (~ 25) and the last three or four at HPE saw a small raise and limited bonus. Manager said his hands were tied, so I took an early retirement. They don't care, why should I?
Teri is using all the money for his benefit. Plus he needs money for the Juniper acquisition. Juniper is not even releasing q4 quarterly results because all the truth will come out in open. The numbers were made to look rosy in q3 to make the acquisition happen. So they want to close acquisition asap and not report Q4 numbers. Guess who are beneficiaries? HPE employees???
Yeah we could do that, but they would just replace us with even more Indians.
HPE made tons of money this year but some of us didnt get hardly any bonus and a measly raise, perhaps the employees should all walk out and demand changes
He got a promotion with as good a merit increase as I've been able to get anyone in my couple of years at HPE...
Eh, this is a standard thing across HPE. Everybody gets the same % promotion raise based on promoted-to-level. So, I do not know what you're talking about there.
With nearly 50 years in the workplace (20 of it in management) I've never met someone with the stones to try to renegotiate his EOY numbers. I admire him.
This is a shocking thing to hear a manager with 20 years experience say. Where exactly have you worked? If the people reporting to you are not asking for bigger raises when they're between 1-2.5% per year (significantly below real inflation), there is something wrong with your employees.
There is a reason this "guy who was treated best" was treated best right? I'm in OCTO, and all raises/bonuses have been terrible no matter the performance. We're going to lose a lot of people come January. Your "guy who was treated best" is simply stating facts: he expects to be paid at standard market rates. The fact that he knows this and brought it to your attention, means he's likely knowledgeable, and probably good at what he does. He will leave and get the 20-30% raise that he deserves.
The guy who was treated best on my small team is the least satisfied. :-( He got a promotion with as good a merit increase as I've been able to get anyone in my couple of years at HPE, RSU's, an admittedly modest bonus (but again -- better than most in OCTO), and an extra bonus. He said he was grateful for the promo but was expecting a bigger increase with it, along the lines of 15-20% as was (reportedly) customary back in India.

Anyone know if this can actually happen at HPE?
People in the US were way under funded. I am a manager of managers and my merit, bonus, and stock pools were the smallest they've ever been. To top it off, whatever bonus we awarded was cut to 80% after Q4 was announced. HPE does not care about you. The sooner you realize that, the better decisions you can make for yourself. Your manager has no power to find money. Your manager's manager does not have the power. The people with the money are HR, Finance, and two steps down from Antonio. Your chain of command is merely the reluctant messenger for corporate greed.
I work at HPE and got a 2.5% raise and 80% of my bonus. I was hoping for a better bonus payout because of the record financial performance for the year.
Tony got bonus
I think it depends on your role and your overall score. I know people who got bonus and raise, and others who didn't get a bonus at all.
I remember one year, I filed a patent and fixed some major firmware bugs and solved several critical issues but got a 2% raise and a tiny bonus that didn’t keep up with inflation. My HPE manager was incredibly nervous. He told me that I was severely underpaid but he was hamstrung by his manager and couldn’t pay me more. Things got so bad at HPE that I finally took a retirement package and found a job in aerospace which gave me a 40% increase in salary.
That was one thing I didn't miss when I was still at HPE. You got BUs competing against each other. You got your own team members competing against each other. Everyone is doing their best to kissing up to their manager to try to get the biggest raise and bonus. It's sort of a toxic mentality that creates favoritism.
This tactic doesn't work for BUs not performing as well. Engineering teams are getting weighed down by bad marketing and sales teams.
Now that I'm out of the big tech industry, my much smaller company not only pays me more, but my contributions have extremely high visibility. It can be a double-edged sword but I have a manager and team that can help out.
I’m in the edge. Got a bonus and RSUs. It’s not everyone but you have to get high marks and not be a “meets expectations” type of employee. Really gotta go above and beyond. It’s hard
What BU?
There should be no surprises around bonuses. If OP is in the Server division and had good marks from their manager on the Quarterly MY Success Plan then they should be getting a bonus near what is listed for them in Workday. If they didn't get that, they should reach out to HR ASAP.
On the other hand, if the OP is in Hybrid Cloud, Edge, or Professional Services, those Business Units didn't meet the target. There was a slide on the screen for 5 minutes in the internal All Team Meeting covering funding the bonus plan. Half the divisions were Yellow, not Green. That means the bonus pool was not fully funded. Some years are better than others. All in all, HPE bonus plan more transparent than a lot of companies.
If you're in OCTO and specifically the storage group, you are not alone. Seems The Grinch has come early this year.
