Hmm, or are they clever and sleazy enough to remove competition and reduce salary costs for an immediate share price bump.
It sounds like they should be able to justify their large salary by solving some difficult math, computer science, or physics problems. All of us can't wait to see their solutions.
When morale is down, productivity shall go down.
PIPs lower morale and desire to improve even among those not directly threatened.

It's sad that PIPs happen but it's also sad to have slots taken up by unproductive people and dragging teams and the company down.

what about those who should have been put on a PIP but were not ? The most obvious are Alvind, the mothertruckers Thomas and Kavanaugh and several other pipmunks....
But if wishes were horses, beggars would ride, no ?
From the people i know in Software, close to 80 percent. Do you really walk around your slice of IBM and feel surrounded by high performance?
