Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Let's eliminate more workers

Let's get rid of more people doing the actual work so they can create more high level executive positions we don't need. CVS is so top heavy now.

In a strange turn of events some insiders still working there are saying given this week's events, that a lot of people are voluntarily leaving. People are scared. You dont have to be a CEO.
Couple that with low morale and the constant threat of layoffs, CVS may have a ton of vacancies they can't fill.
Working for the perceived enemy of doctors and patients is not something anyone wants to out on a resume anymore.

And not just top heavy with vice presidents and other executives, but too heavy with field leadership as well. Do we really need District leaders AND Regional directors?? And multiple layers of other field leaders, like LP/AP, field colleague trainers, etc., etc. Instead of like 2-3 layers on the bottom and then 32 layers up to the top, how about we have more staffing support for the stores? agree with the OP that CVS is very top heavy indeed.

Yes, too many layers: AVP, VP, SVP, EVP. Not to mention all the director levels.

Who told you that? Positions can be eliminated at anytime. A company can shut down a line of business at anytime. Store fronts can be further downsized. Vendors can be contracted at anytime. There are companies whose sole purpose is VBC and Pharmacy. As SAAS business models continue to be created, providers can go through those services to treat patients.
Look at UHC business model to know where CVS is headed.

Layoffs are ongoing. How many Executive and Lead Directors does it take to sc--w in a light bulb?

Answer: The lightbulb never get sc--wed. Just the team below them as they try to maintain their outdated teams structure. Layoff your team members instead of moving on.
