Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Cloud PC, the typical Charlie downgrade

Like all things at wells, the system was nice and fast until they pushed it into production, then it became laggy and unresponsive.

The surface issues:
Constant slowdowns and temporary freezes.
Multiple lost input due to the above. I've literally had to slow down the WPM that I type at in order to stop fat-fingering logins that really should be pass-thru.
Outlook App is hot garbage.
Excel can't remember window location or size.

And my favorite of all, so far:
Software Market says my Cloud PC is an invalid target system, even though the Software Market is the designated channel in all Cloud PC communications for requesting cloud PC software.

Whoever is designing our end-user cloud PC experience is failing as an architect and engineer.

I haven't noticed any difference. Things work a little differently, but speed wise, its about the same as Wave.

This is the expected outcome of laying off all the people that know how to do such a complicated rollout and support it in broad usage. This probably works just fine ... in a company that isn't laying off 1000 employees a month, and thus is constantly reshuffling who works on what.

Nothing new can have a good implementation when the teams that have to design, test, and implement solutions are constantly getting reorganized due to each round of layoffs taking out key engineers who were assigned to the project.

Cloud PC a disaster. WAVE Looks incredible in comparison. For those floating between multiple office cubes, enjoy setting up your cloud pc on every terminal. Simple things like configuration of 2 monitors , voice, video, etc. and then having to approve login via MS auth

I no longer work at WF, but when I did they were knee deep into giving everyone Wave. Is that now gone?

There’s nothing better than having to wait for my Pc to catch up to my typing and editing. If Wells wants to pay me to wait for my PC to respond that’s their choice. I still can’t take screen prints through Teams for walkthroughs, so my ability to do my job has been hampered since VDI came out. Nobody cares, neither do I.

Easy explanation, Kerrins. When you have someone that knows more about Lemons than their job this is what you get. We have our own lemon of systems.

The people making these decisions base them on industry trends and sales pitches. None of them actually understand the implications and complexities of implementing anything and probably have never accomplished anything technical in their lives.

Since Shart got here every single alleged "upgrade" has been a downgrade. Every single one.

Our network architecture is designed just like everything else at this company. Don’t expect any real time networking applications to work well here.

The only waste the executive team is concerned with is operating costs wasting their profits.

What ever happened to WAVE? It was the go forward solution until they realized regulated user would be out of compliance lol.

I give them kudos for trying to deal with electronic waste. I had a desktop computer and 3 different laptops in 8 years.
