Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Catching Up

I just "caught up" on the last week of posts/comments on here and WOW. Here's what I noticed: 1,700 employees RIF'd, people managers must be in office for 9 hours M-F beginning 12/1, and other employees must be in office for 9 hours M-Th (although that's most likely to become M-F sooner than later), "unlimited R&R" is capped at 23 days, and the reasons given to those who were RIF'd (cost) and those remaining (performance) are completely different (lies as usual).

As someone who found a greener pasture last month, here's my advice:

  • If you're not required to work outside regular hours (i.e. Support), don't
  • Never work on your personal time because it sets the expectation for them to continue to ruin your work/life balance
  • Take time off when you're feeling overwhelmed
  • This is only a job; your family and your health (physical and mental) are most important
  • Accept your fate or take action to leave
  • Don't look for jobs at Fiserv's competitors; look for jobs at their clients
  • They do not owe anyone severance so don't expect it
  • Your skills are transferrable to not only other companies but to other industries so don't pigeonhole yourself into a specific job and broaden your job search

I genuinely wish the best for all of you at Fiserv who feel trapped because of the current job market or stress of having to repay tuition/relocation expenses if you leave. Just know your worth and don't let this job push you over the edge.

"Just curious, why do you recommend not working for Fiserv’s competition?"

The working conditions at Fiserv's competitors isn't much better (just look them up on this site) AND everyone from Fiserv is already applying to those places.

Long tenured employees will be angry if 23 days is true… when they had earned 10 more

so basically fiserv silently laid off around 5% of workforces in recent round.

@jlb+1vLebgIK, that being, if written it can't be used as a reason for termination? So much for transparency and integrity.

23 days cap is unwritten for legal reasons

Wonder how long the 23 day unlimited cap remains unwritten?

Correction - Employees grade level 11 and above must be in office for 9 hours a day, no changes to grade level 10 and below. There's no mentioning of a cap on "unlimited R&R".
