Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

We all are very stressed and exhausted

We should all stop for a moment and think about what we can do about deteriorating culture, toxicity, and pressure, both psychological and work-related, we all are exposed to. I would say that we should support each other and think about ways we can promote our interests together as employees. Also, each one of us should reexamine our priorities with a clear head and make decisions accordingly. No company and no job is worth our health and well-being. Think about yourself first, then about your colleagues who are in the same boat.

The only person with inside knowledge is Frank. He wants you to leave for free so he can replace you with someone cheaper. Or not replace you at all for free.

Can someone with inside knowledge explain the reasoning behind these draconian policies?

Rumors have been flying since the summer about attendance changes. Believe me, I've been looking for something better with more pay, but the market is sh-t right now.

"They are trying to put factory/production framework onto white collar jobs."

Much worse than that. Once factory workers left factory for home, they own all their time until back to factory again next morning. No luck for us poor souls who have to work at night after we arrived home.

Post ID: @ukl+1vHJ7hz6 - you are spot on. This place is not normal. Does not matter your role or seniority, we are all treated as children in grammar school. Ruling by fear, intimidation, threats, RIFs, and so on.

NO way in he-l is Fiserv normal.

I left after 20+ years at Fiserv. Less stress, more money. I was fortunate to get out. This company will continue to push you more and more for work while paying less and less. Do yourself a favor. Get your resume updated and start looking now. At some point clients and the street will wise up and this place will sink.

Yeah, I used EAP for a therapist because this company drove me to need therapy. You get like six free therapy sessions and they’ll help find you a therapist.

Has anyone used the EAP to connect with someone to help with the stress of all this craziness and unknowns?

I’m only 3 months into the job and shell shocked at how bad the culture is. Totally did not know what I was getting into. I’m just trying to keep an eye on the most junior folks bc this is NOT a normal work environment. I’d hate for people just out of college to think this throw back to a factory work schedule is normal. They are trying to put factory/production framework onto white collar jobs. At no point are they mentioning WHAT they want me and the team to accomplish, they are just telling us HOW with no what or why. It’s baffling. I told my whole team if they need a recommendation from me, I’m happy to provide it no questions asked. If I could leave, I would but it’s only been 3 months. Sigh.

Don't make this your personal problem, keep the sh-t at office only. showing your anger on your family is only going to get things worse.

Adjust kids timing and find a new job.

UNIONIZE

There’s no other way. Start floating the idea to coworkers. It’ll take some bravery to get the ball rolling but we’ll benefit in the long run.

The stress is now affecting my marriage. Thanks FB that I can no longer pick my child up and will add 3 hours on to my day.
