I was trying to listen into the call while taking teller transactions on the teller line. I couldn’t pay full attention and participate because likewise to most of our local branches, everyone is running slim due to turnover, vacations and unhealthy staffing models. When I heard someone say that walking into our banks are a step above walking into a circle k a gas station ⛽️, it hit home for me. I couldn’t agree more when I heard another lady here saying what she had to say. I agree, walking into our locations are like walking into a circle k.
She said that when people walk into the bank, any location, the teammates are unhappy and the buildings are falling apart. She said there’s branches with spots of mold on ceiling tiles, holes in the walls and peeling paint on walls. She said the buildings are not being fixed when necessary and the new cleaning company doesn’t even clean. She said I am embarrassed to work here because it’s like a step above a gas station. She said when are we going to stop saying budget and actually start giving our teammates and buildings the care they need.
Well said whoever you are. I am thankful to know I work with other strong women. We all need to start speaking up. I’m going to ask to be off of the teller line on the next call so I can actually participate.
