Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

My team lost valuable members, again

I guess only the cost of an employee was the criteria for layoffs. In the vast majority of cases that meant people with the most experience, best skills and results, were targeted. There surely must be the point when depleting the company of people who have been the backbone will backfire.

"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.”

The same page from the same playbook for over 30 years. First they said: "We're cutting out deadwood." The next round they said: "We're trimming fat." Eventually, they cut muscle, and more muscle....

Somehow, people survive. You guys will, too.

We lost a superstar one year. Even our boss didn’t know he was on the list. For months after when we would be troubleshooting an issue overnight someone who didn’t know would say “Let’s call MM”. Complete clown show.
