Depending on the state you live in, you can review what equals what a reasonable person would consider a commitment for employment, example, if your manager lays out a responsibility plan for the next two years and your key contributions and deliverables to it, a good attorney can bring that forward as a commitment of employment even if there’s a hire at will law in your state.

At least Frank has not slimmed down the severance package policy yet. At First Data he changed it from 2 weeks per year to 1 week per year. When he was ravaging through FD staff with constant layoffs, I was there. I thought I was lucky not getting cut when most of my friends were let go but they got 2 weeks per year. Shortly after the policy was cut back to one week per year. A year later with a month shy of 12 years with FD, I was laid off and got 11 weeks of severance. FB is a megalomaniac with no empathy for anyone. Don't sell your soul or bust your butt to work for someone that narcissistic. He does not care about any of you, And thats awful because you people really do make the difference. (yeah I used to work for Fiserv too before FD - used to be great!)
Pretty sure severance is set in Associat handbook. 2 wks for every year of service up to 26 weeks
