We’re back, baby! Five days a week in corporate America—just as chaotic as I expected. Join me as I navigate the maze of corporate nonsense.
I arrived at the office at 8:30 a.m. and took a lap around the Dallas floor. First observation: the place is crawling with Finance folks- they are like roaches! Apparently, they’ve outgrown their secure floor, so now they’re spilling into every corner of the building.
Needing a mental reset, I grabbed some coffee and ran into my AVP. We ended up chatting for about an hour, mostly venting about the absurdity of it all while ironing out some data issues.
Back at my office, I bumped into a peer and had another hour-long conversation. (It’s amazing how much you can “accomplish” through casual hallway chats.)
Fired off a couple of emails, and just like that—it’s time for a two-hour “working lunch.”
The afternoon called for more caffeine, so I made a coffee run and happened to run into my old boss, who’s leaving soon. We spent about an hour catching up and reminiscing.
Finally, I jumped on a video call because, of course, everyone I actually need to work with is out of state or overseas. Remote work vibes, but make it “return to office.”
To wrap up the day, I called maintenance to fix some flickering lights in the office, and just like that, it was time to head home.
Corporate life in full swing—we’re really back, baby!
