Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Recently Impacted in a Downsizing Event

As a newer associate, the environment at Fiserv is toxic and abusive. Hundreds of people on leaves mostly due to stress from the bullying. Always feeling threatened and live silently in fear of the layoffs. Those who have been around a long time just stay quiet in fear. If they speak up there is fear of retaliation. Talk negatively and appear unhappy, then there will be reasons found for you to be next in the list. There is limited support as a new associate and talking down, making you feel inferior, and lack of appreciation doesn't help either. Business processes are not all that great but there is never opportunity to make anything better due to constant turnover. Employees are treated like garbage and the surveys reflect this. This company is not going to survive until there is a huge shift away from the lead by intimidation and bullying environment. There has to be a better balance.

During a call today Matt announced that the recent layoffs were not due to a financial decision, but due to those associates performances, which was not told to those folks when they were laid off. Shady.

I left about 18 months ago. I am so much happier. Don't get me wrong, my new employer also has similar corp America problems but it's the culture that is SO much better than what I experienced at Frank's Fiserv. Flexibility, remote options, respect & trust for employees, no micro managing, standard 5% merit increase, actual actions from employee survey results. Overall mutual respect from execs and employees. It's really such a wonderful change.
I definitely would recommend being patient while looking...it took me almost 2 years to find an opportunity that was the right fit for me. I was selective in choosing an employer that I was certain could not be bought by Fiserv.
Good luck to all those looking.

Nothing will change as long as Frank is Chairman and CEO. This is the same playbook he ran at First Data.
