Jason Press said today in his town hall that employees will be required to be in the office 5 days a week. He did make mention of a possible hybrid situation, but did not elaborate on that. Jason also stated that ALL supervisors in all management levels will be required to be in the office 5 days a week. This for ALL AT&T not just his organization.

I think you misheard a bit of what Jason said. He did confirm that ATS (under Jeremy) has a plan to get all supervisor roles into the office 5 days a week. It's already happened at the VP level and will be working downwards as they resolve office space issues. This was just for ATS, not company wide. And he said the expectation was for non-supervisor roles to retain a hybrid approach.
NONE of his direct reports are in NJ.
He should be forced to relocate like the rest of us (bottom feeders) so he can collaborate effectively.
Jason is a tool, he is based out of Middletown but then moved his office to Wayne to give himself an easier commute. Must be nice for him but su-ks for others that cannot do that and have to commute the longer distance.
"work..there is no truly reliable way to know how long someone is actually working at their desk.."
Fyi, It would actually be very easy to determine the start and end time stamps for a device on an in office network if they wanted to do that. Just because it doesn't show up on one type of report doesn't mean it cant appear on some other report. T has also had software that determines idle time, how much time in certain apps, etc.
The more they announce, the less they have the data on. You should all know that
It’s not worth losing your job over. Everyone has to do it no just you.
Just to clarify, I’ve seen all the dashboard and reports being used , they aren’t tracking hours in office. They track entry time via badge swipe, presence via log on to the LAN or wifi. They track last time your computer was on the network…not actual hours . With so many people who spend time in the field, in conference rooms, leave their computers at work..there is no truly reliable way to know how long someone is actually working at their desk..
I must be available 24X7 365 and have been 5 days since July 2023. Does it su-k, yes. Is it doable also yes. Did I work in an office prior to CVOID no, I had been virtual for 20 years. Do I report to a hub no, do I know I will lose my job if I don't, yes. No one cares.
“ Are you required to stay in 8 hours a day??”
We got a clarification that stated 8hrs in office daily, you are being tracked. Oh yeah and make sure you get your extra hours in every day that we demand while you’re at home after hours, but those hours don’t count. Nah, I’m only going to do 8 per day in office only going forward. Until I get hired by another company.
“Old people” aren’t the majority complaining about RTO.
He mentioned a possible hybrid situation? WTF? Then that means nothing as far as a 5 day RTO mandate you cookie crumb. I’ll believe it when I see it. If Legg isn’t capable of setting air tight rules surrounding a 5 day RTO then I wouldn’t worry to much about anything Jason Press has to say. Everything still amounts to an elaborate smoke screen for getting rid of old people. Once the target is reached all the clowns will drop their poker faces. Until then, keep on message.
Can’t wait for the ones is disbelief who are all like “but but… my VP hasn’t said anything so we’re fine. This is fake” 🤡
Did someone raise their hand to ask why this announcement was just now being made? This information has been known by other organizations for weeks.
Most likely to make their resume look good. Most were told by SVP to do a min 3 days. The lower leaders decided to vote and the consensus was given and decided to make all their employees do 5 just to look good
"Are you required to stay in 8 hours a day??" He didn't say anything about that. I assume they will push everyone for that. My answer, not legally, lol.

NE&O just got the "official" email yesterday ( Nov 19 ).
