Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Why so many in New York?

I don't understand.....I get far exceeds rating and "merit" far less than inflation yet every quarterly town hall I get to watch the camera span to everyone that traveled to new york while told we need to travel less. Very few promotions, not many job requisitions opening to replace people leaving, projects sitting and not getting approved, holding vendor payments. What am I missing?

Instead they brag about buying back shares to boost the stock price. Slap in the face to us that can't afford to buystock cause they pay us so poorly.

Quarterly town halls are a stark reality of the true lack of care, empathy, appreciation for people outside the "elite". Crazy how they try to spin it as looking out for everyone else. Can't wait to see how they spin the your voice results.....last year it was lots of RTO frustration but somehow that spun into we need to be in the office more.

Gotta find a new company...just so hard after 20 years and caring about the people around me and the solutions i helped build. However, getting less and less familiar faces around due to layoffs or finding better opportunities.

Read what you write as though you didn’t work here. Would you apply for a job? If the answer is no, and it should be, then stop overthinking this. Move on.

You don't want to stay and find out what happens to your team members and the products you built. It is better to be oblivious to what is going to happen next and start working at a company that values its resources.

As hard as it is, update your resume and start applying.

While no company is perfect, there are places who value good work ethics from non Ivy League institutions.

Fiserv was a great Midwestern company who acquired another Midwestern company (First Data) that had been taken over by Wall Street bankers who will never value your talent and work ethic.

Other companies will welcome you. But it takes time. Trust your talent.
