Thread regarding Rockwell Automation Inc. layoffs

Next round coming

All signs indicate another round. Q4 will be a miss. Blake will panic and layoff more, fire an SVP of choice (Buttermore or Scotty g most likely) Petty cost savings like travel restrictions, healthcare cost increases, company phones and suspended 401k will start to happen. The board is too stupid and deferential to moret to do anything. It will take a departure of institutional investors and an activist to make the change. Don’t wait. Retire or run. I’m sure autofair will be a hoot. Btw. How is the 40 month march going????

Blake and Becky. Like Jeffery Lebowski and Brandt. https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&sca_esv=9d94dd5c257ef4ca&hl=en-us&sxsrf=ADLYWIK3KWmSzeTRyA59wBXaFFSk8FjdMw:1731216213314&q=lebowski+brandt+achievers&udm=7&fbs=AEQNm0BxM3BCmGyI0OdhoDRGw62p0AlpbVD8iIn5QpgFe561RZin0eMxoQH09lIpGSOpFozTp5-1s2ezEc2HFm_cragv1fBZAGQlWcbq_LQFRcG7jkO3yz8UmY2XsWJylABvzOU_m3ZGtesFeocrDie3nkahKx2WlOu17mOr6liIqLgYlndEUg16L2aKKb2ry1YyHOgImRafamDfTwp7LPhaKVkW2v7VjlxVgMLd9SosDR1BxiLAQc0&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiO97H7gtGJAxWIhIkEHX37O-sQtKgLegQIDBAB&biw=428&bih=745&dpr=3#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:ba029fd3,vid:VecinjfP8Bk,st:0

Strong leadership and great insights. Veena sold $154k of stock on Monday. Great instincts. She must be a genius. Oh wait, why is she selling so close to earnings and she sold before the stock popped and dropped. What a rocket surgeon.

A rising tide raises all boats. Earnings call will probably reverse. Rockwell cables in semiconductor. They used to do a lot of applied material but it was really air handling equipment. Not really critical semiconductor. The nVidia relationship is mainly marketing nonsense. If Blake indicates Logix is stagnant or declining, run. It’s good so many in leadership have never programmed a controller. Maybe on Bulho. Tessa, Bob and Blake are sales wanks. Scotty g is clueless. Matt came in with gpt. Other competitors have much more real product and solution experience and customers know it.

Agreed- that makes sense. It’s interesting that he and Elon are buddies so hoping that helps with the EV market

I don't think the rise in stock price is related to performance, the stock market in general was up after the election.

With Trump, businesses in general may feel more optimistic, but it remains to be seen how that will translate to sales for RA. If Trump rolls back initiatives related to electric vehicles and the CHIPS Act, that could possibly limit growth for RA in the EV and Semiconductor segments.

Whats with Rockwell Stock price today? Was not expecting to see such a positive steep climb on the eve of earnings call tomorrow

Is there any benefit to the company having Trump in office? Just curious how much that matters

Earning call this week. Who will blame blame this time? The acquisitions are mostly not good. Especially software. Analysts and investors might finally wake up and see “aw shucks moret” as the fool he is.

There are too many “paper pushing” managers who cannot make any or provide any directions…

they delegate and deflect any responsibility and accountability. They serve the only as individuals who can approve vacations, padrs, report up yo leadership on the data collected by PowerBI pages.

Hey. Good news. Ian Shih made chinas 100 most influential. Now if he could only sell. Anyway. Most of the new vp and up are of questionable competence

All the US remote executives should be fired and/or outsourced to lower cost regions. This level of quality executives can easily be replaced/outsourced.

Oh the hypocricsy. Isn't Veena one of the SVP's that are remote?

The people who know...
Tell us more about her lifestyle comments to staff.

5 of 11 SVP's reporting to Blake are defined as remote (45% of his staff). The funny thing is, they can all afford to buy a second/third condo near an office just so they can call themselves local. I wonder why they don't do that ;-). Perhaps they enjoy better state tax benefits.

Blaming dei is d-mb. I would agree dei, manufacturing in the main plant and the hq tomato farms are all stupid virtue signaling by Blake and Becky but the problems are much deeper. Blake overspent for many investments especially plex and FIIX. Both are flops. He doesn’t understand the business and believes the id--ts at McKinsey when he pays them millions for bad advice. His leadership team is a shell of their past. He squandered talent and underinvested in Logic, the core of the business. He wanted to be Microsoft but he should have aspired to be Apple. Oh well. His days are numbered. The company will never catch up again and get acquired. The senior vps all make $1m plus in yearly comp all in. They don’t care. Every year just pads the best egg. Ask Veena about her lifestyle. :). She tells her staff every week. How is that employee engagement score doing Blake? You are a buffoon. Run!!!

Major tech companies are dropping DEI like crazy. Is a disease, where the focus is to only bloat the company and make people "feel good". Just yesterday, Boeing finally realized this. It might be too late for them. When does Rockwell clean the house. Are we going to lose more good engineers over the next few months or are we going to just focus on what really matters, making great products that people want to buy. If the decision is to cut more engineering resources over DEI ones, you'll know that Rockwell is on a path of no return.

A lot of public facing positions exist for the sole purpose of virtue signalling and meeting DEI targets. (Soon we will learn that our idealogical enemies sponsor the DEI movements.) We tend to keep “empty” positions and cut development and engineeting roles. I really hope to be wrong.

On top of the directors reporting to directors and assorted sr managers having no direct reports, they bought all those Plex VPs, OTTO VPs, ASEM, Kalyoso, Verve, Cubuc, Clearpath, and Fiix etc and all the senior titles beneath them. That's a ton of salary they can cut for positions that aren't needed anymore. (I wonder how many of those positions are Vxx virtual?) Why do I learn more here, than anywhere else about what's happening in the company I've spent decades at.

Rockwell has certainly minted a lot of new Directors and VPs over the last 3 years. It’s insane how many of these empty “titles” are now in the company.

Some depts are definitely very lean whersome departments have too many ppl doing a -non value add- work. Wrong folks will be likely cut again.

Yes. It is true. The Harbin facility will close down in the next 12-18months. (Same fate as the facility in Brasil)

Unfortunately more cuts are scheduled US and Canada locations. The outcome of the earnings call next week will trigger further cuts

I highly doubt that. They just dumped a pile of money into that facility prepandemic. They are the only manufacturer for the MVB in APAC. I agree with the other guy who said wait it out. I'd be curious what others think, but I think they've cut a lot of fat, I can't see any more RIFs coming.

The Harbin China facility will likely close in the next 12-18months. Confirmed.

More cuts are confirmed for the other US and Canada plants.

"This place is getting depressing. Any tips on retiring early and getting severance?" - Become a VP with a golden parachute otherwise grunts don't get to have their cake and eat it too.

Try reframing your thinking, if you're not part of the problem, why should you leave? Just do your job and wait it out - you'll either survive, leave on your own or the decision will be made for you. I have outlasted so many people in management who were hack's, it's not even funny. Hopefully, they figure out the management problems before they get rid of what's left of the backbone of the company that has been keeping the company afloat despite managements efforts to run the company into the ground. It's sad to see the company on life support. Stay strong and bide your time.

In Poland they will be removing soon people that work on business contracts not employee contract. These are mostly coders.

It’s clear the demand is low and the recovery for the company will be difficult. The ceo doesn’t know what he is doing and squandered time chasing bullsh-t software companies while ignoring the core. He was already behind delaying the controller and forcing the new software for Logix to be cloud first. Siemens had a 7 year head start with tiaportal. Too bad Blake didn’t listen. The knowledgeable people on his team told him. But he is a narcissistic fool. Then he listened to people who sound like they know what they are talking about. He is easily fooled. Leave while you can. It’s not getting any better.

We've never shut down plants like this during the holiday's that I can remember in 25+ years. AF was an abysmal failure last year. They should have never tinkered with what was working.

Post ID: @6lwo+1v8308NT

Are you implying shutdowns are due to slow demand, or are these annual shutdowns that the factories do every year over Xmas? Why extend AF from two days to four if money is so tight - literally doubling the cost of everything.

Post ID: @6sny+1v8308NT

Depending on the plant or region the shutdowns will take place from 3rd weed in Dec 24 until the end of 2nd week in Jan 25.

I heard twins burg was at only 3 days 2 shifts and now may go to 4 days. At peak they did 6 or 7 days 2 shifts. No demand in most profitable business. Not good. Takes a lot of plex cr-p to cover that! Way to go Blake and Scotty g. Driving the core to the ground. And when is next gen controller coming. Already late!!!

All US/Canada remote positio a will either be outsourced to India at 1/5th of the labour cost or “attritioned”

Think of all the money they'd save if they let anyone that can work remote, do it. Especially when big dogs taking teams calls clearly from home, while forcing everyone in the office. They're laughing at us. And PS no raise for two years and no bonus either!
