Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Single change with a big impact on culture and morale

I’m kinda surprised that no one has recently called out the one person that would have the biggest positive impact on culture and morale if they were gone. After all, allowing VPs to do whatever, hiring VPs that were tops at bad behavior (and could have been avoided with a basic background check), setting the company up for the lawsuits listed in the threads, allowing people to promote (with no panels) people who shouldn’t have been, while denying progression to everyone else, etc. This is MM’s legacy. This person is why everyone knows better than to go to HR or ER, because this board is filled with how that turns into a retaliation mess… It’s time to get an actual professional to run HR…

The newly announced APLA HR VP perfect example of how brown nosing triumphs capability in HR. Poor decision yet again.

Resources will always come before the human in this hr org. I just see a giant middle finger from this org and no amount of reorgs are going to get us anywhere without fixing HR.

We found EH and brought him out of retirement but the next generation of our leaders are either laid off due to politics or left out of frustration.

No progression. No respect for talent. No recognition and value.

All grounded in HR practices from 80s, pumping full of Karen energy with a long tradition of brown nosing.

If you are reading this EH, HR is the org that ki-led the Nike magic. They messed up succession planing and talent investment which ki-led off the soul of this once great brand. Years of misguided practices have turned us into an org of paper pushers with a byzantine bureaucracy.

Ki-l the culture of fear, Nike cannot exist as an org rooted in fear.

Nike Direct HR VP is the worst. He shows no compassion or care. He shouts at leaders and belittles employees.

Is there anyone in her leadership team who are professionals who have expertise? I heard all the good ones have left.
