So, I have a colleague who just got notified today they're laid-off. This person is on the tech side and it came as a complete surprise. Smart intelligent and experienced bo-m just gone. Everyone who's heard is completely surprised. I also didn't see their title on the WARN notice either.
Has anyone else heard about people still getting notified?

They amend the warn notices, did it last year, the initial notice came in September, checked titles and everyone else thought they were safe. Come October they did the 2nd round, and in RI at least they amended the initial warn notice, it doesn't show as a 2nd warn. The job titles weren't that accurate either, as some of the titles in the warn weren't let go or werent who we thought it was going to be, so its kind of futile to try and correlate the title to who might be let go.
Isn't there a threshold for requiring WARN notices? Could be that his area isn't planned for at least 500 layoffs or whatever the number is
