Hopefully someone with clinical background, as there are too many non clinical people in clinical ops leadership. Shared services has created so many siloes and piecemealed clinical process. It’s like they don’t know what they don’t know because they lack clinical education and experience.
Do we really need to replace her? We’ve added so many layers of management in clinical ops this year promoting directors to AVPs, AVPs to VPs and now a SVP to COO. People that were directors two years ago are now VPs. And just recently someone that was an associate director of commercial case management three years ago was promoted to Director of quality investigations then to AVP of UM center of excellence, allegedly with no UM experience. It’s amazing to see things falling apart since SS left two short years ago.
