Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Retail!

Why can’t ANYONE in this company explain why we can’t get equipment/accessories to sell in the store! From the Store manager to the ARSM, to THE DOS AND VPGM, no would will say anything, but we are getting slammed from the consumers for lack of products! You tell me Dallas, what’s the real deal?

You can't eliminate retail. The industry has no growth. Adding stuff like protection and Next UP will show growth. No one wants it so it's fraudulently added. If all sales are done online, there will be no slamming of those features. This will stop those additional revenue streams.

It’s quite simple and really obvious. The plan has been to drive customers to online engagement..period, with very few exceptions. Retail will be virtually non existent from a company owned perspective within 18 months.

I work in retail audit.

What exactly do you audit? Only retail service stores (not just AT&T, Verizon, Spectrum, etc) are mostly empty. Are customer visits being looked at? Apple is the only store I have been recently where customers have to wait to see a rep.

OP mentioned getting slammed… kinda like how y’all elect every customer into PA, next up and HTP whether they want it or not?

Oh we get these horrible AT&T screen protectors now, they break when u put them on a device, but we stopped handling Zagg n others that were made to last! Just as basic as a 5 & 10 store now

I work in retail audit. The only way to make it look like Authorized Retail was a suitable replacement for COR is if we make COR tank on purpose. Lowers COR productivity kpis, makes AR look good. Supports more COR closures and turnover. Time to look elsewhere.

Maybe because we owe Apple and Samsung 15 billion.

Probably a lot of this is on purpose. The cost equation of brick and mortar versus online should be huge especially for an accessory. Plus the reps don’t seem to be as well trained as they used to be. Purchased a phone awhile ago and reps couldn’t get things transferred properly after 2 visits. Finally called in and got a rep who got it handled with no problems (which can be very hit and miss.) Store rep called the next day and I questioned him on this. Don’t know if true or not but was told they no longer had access to some system and was only able to do very basic stuff.

I will never visit one of our retails stores again. At lease when ordering online you have control over what features are being added. I got burned twice by Retail Reps adding services not requested and then when trying to get billing credit is a fiasco as no one knows how to do they job so they give you the old AT&T run around or hang up on you.

Because you guys keep stealing it. The more theft events, the lower they will keep inventories.

In the Southeast, teamsters didn't cross pickets lines, so the strike may have affected deliveries.
