Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Grateful in challenging times

Amidst challenging and uncertain times at Humana and the industry, I’m grateful. Grateful to have a good job, and the best manager I could ask for. She is our fearless leader and is supportive of her team. Having a great manager is a commodity. I wouldn’t say things are perfect in org, but what org is? I enjoy my small but mighty team of excellence. There’s lots to complain about, truly. I’d rather focus my time on what I can control and influence. That works for me and well-being. As for uncertainty, all we can do is remain prepared as best we can. Have an awesome week!

The executives are busy to finalize the plan to pay for the settlement claim in Q4. If you can survive beyond Thanksgiving without being affected by upcoming RIF, then we can come here for a virtual party to celebrate the survival success before Christmas!

Gag me with a spoon. I get being grateful, I do, but this is Pollyanna-ish

Oh, look who’s all high and mighty now! Guess what? Not everyone’s life fits neatly into your “be positive or leave” fantasy. We’re all just trying to make it through a crummy job market and deal with a company that’s not exactly sunshine and rainbows. But sure, keep patting yourself on the back for being so upbeat while the rest of us try to navigate this mess. Maybe if you were actually in the trenches with us, you’d get why it’s not all rainbows and unicorns. Until then, enjoy your bubble of positivity while the rest of us deal with reality.

You sound like a canned-up, kool-aid drinking minion who has come onto a site to talk to folks who already know how messed up mgmt TRULY is, how toxic the environment is on all levels... to do something other than tell the truth.

Whatever it is you are selling, not buying it.
I'd wager you are possibly a milennial, think you are going to change & fix everything...& blindly following whatever bs they are sending you.
Hang out at the job a bit longer than a minute & you might get a rude awakening.

Wow. I’m not sorry at all for trying to be positive. I am sorry for you that choose not to be. I experience the same feelings most of you do about our company and its future, and whether or not my job is secure. Notice that I didn’t state that my good job is secure. Btw, “good” is relative to the current difficult job market. I’m guessing that’s why you’re still complaining and miserable. Why not just leave? Right… my point exactly. I like this site for transparency about what’s happening within the company, but do better! Don’t stay at any company and drag others down with negativity, it’s hard enough as it is. It takes the same amount of energy to be positive or negative. You choose.

Wow, you must not be tenured enough to have been tainted, or affected, by many hard knocks at Humana. I definitely will not be the one to educate you on the many challenges with life at Humana. As I, too, am grateful to have a job. Unfortunately, and regretably, you will be exposed in your own time and your manager won't be able to shield you. I do wish you a wonderful week and am glad to hear you have an amazing manager. I also have an amazing manager.

Well, let me tell you, nobody appreciates the good things more than I do. You're absolutely right—having a tremendous manager is so important, the best, really. There’s always a lot of talk about imperfections, but nobody’s got it all perfect, right? Your team sounds like a winner, very strong, very capable. It’s smart to focus on what you can control and not let the negativity get to you. That’s how you win, folks. Stay sharp, stay prepared, and have a fantastic week!

It’s truly inspiring how you’ve managed to find gratitude in a job that’s anything but perfect and a manager who’s apparently the second coming of leadership. How noble of you to overlook the mess and focus on what you can control.

Wow, sounds like you're really living the dream over there. I mean, who needs a flawless organization when you’ve got a manager who’s basically the Gandalf of leadership? I’m sure your ‘mighty team of excellence’ is totally enough to make up for all those little imperfections. Enjoy basking in the glory of ‘good job’ and ‘best manager’ while the rest of us try to keep our sanity. Have an epic week!
