Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Union Leadership

Union leadership has failed to communicate progress or ask for membership feedback on proposals the company has offered. This has created trust issues for employees who are going a month without pay. Crossing the line is happening everywhere, especially tomorrow and Monday. Next action needs to be at the next union elections. A few people, whose feelings are hurt by the company, making decisions for 17,000 is not working.

The IGNORANCE of the latest post below me! Heads up!!! It was stated that the government agreed this WAS a valid ULP strike which means the company will be REQUIRED to allow regular employees to RETURN if the union calls it off. They also have to pay back pay AND... anyone in their position that the company MAY HAVE hires, will have to MOVE out the way ans relinquish said job. Go to the NLRB website !

Pricing yourself put of a job comes to mind. Why pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to 1 employee with wages and benefits, when contractors can do most, if not all of this work. Before you start, blah, blah, blah article 14. Last I checked you don't have a contract that matters, so article 14 doesn't matter. Just saying. We're going on a month without any real update from the union other than hold the line, thanks for the pics, and what we had for lunch. I get it, they gave us a few good updates, but that was after almost a month, and the members were starting to push back. Then there's the town hall calls, that were pointless, all they did was regurgitate the daily updates, then half a-s answer member questions, that basically left you scratching your head trying to figure out what the answer was.

Subject: AT&T Louisiana Storm Work: Seeking Crews for Pre-Storm List
I'm excited to announce that Gojet Communications LLC and Gojet Recruiting Services LLC have secured an opportunity to provide storm recovery services for AT&T in Louisiana. As of yesterday, AT&T has reached out, and all contracts have been drawn up and signed.
We are currently finalizing pricing, but we are actively assembling a pre-storm list of companies to fill the required positions.
We are seeking the following:
200-300 aerial crews
30 fiber splicers
30 copper splicers
The initial rate we have received is for a 2-man aerial crew at $210 per hour. More pricing details will follow soon.
If you are interested in being on the pre-storm list, please message me directly on Facebook Messenger for phone numbers and additional contact information.
Thank you for your time, and we look forward to collaborating.
Best regards,

If a real union member then they must not be in the loop because we know exactly what is going on. Plenty of updates with Local, FB, and D3 site. If only the Stankey valued employees as much as BOD did him, he received a 3 million dollar raise in compensation. FCF of 16 billion and yet they have been bargaining in bad faith, thus the ULP charges from the direct dealing with employees, reneging on proposals, delaying tactics.

Good try again company gaslighter but all members know if they cross not only will they be walking for free but once everyone returns shortly, no one will work with them. This is very close to being over for all and we can get back to working and serving our customers.

Stay strong, in Unity! 💪

You sound like a whiner who's not very active in the union anyway. Maybe if you attended the union meetings you'd know more or can ask questions.

Thank you company troll for your take on the union. We aren’t having D3 members cross in our area and definitely not in-mass as described. Near the finish line and what the company needs to do is bargain in good faith with D9 to reach a fair agreement that meets their issues with the first TA. D9 will go on ULP strike if the negotiators try anymore bad faith actions. Over 6 months since the contract expiration.

The boomers still here said “we need to stand the line and just hold out”. They want to go out in a blaze of glory while throwing the rest of us under the bus. The storm gives us a reason to go back.

This isn’t the economy or job market to not be employed, sadly.
