Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

LAY ME OFF ALREADY...

been waiting for the opportunity to leave ATT with a big fat check in hand and to date, crickets! There are so many techs willing to retire early if given the opportunity along with a severance check, but T is too cheap to pony up! I’m sure Zi speak for a few hundred techs that have had enough of the nonsense compliance training and job over sight, micro-management! Time to leave T, I GUESS!

I've been saying yes to VSB every quarter but the company can't find anyone qualified to replace me. I'm that good.

Won’t be any packages now or ever, but every year you’re losing more and more. Heck they are talking cutting severance to 1 month next year. Idk about you, but I’m out of here as soon as I qualify for pension. I’ll take my pension and go do something else and double dip.

Due to decreased work volume resulting from contractors, many employees are anticipating a two-year involuntary surplus. While the company would incur short-term costs, it stands to benefit from long-term savings amounting to millions of dollars.

If the company would have a surplus then I would get severance (SIPP) you are incorrect sir, I put my name on the list to accept it. They haven’t had any surpluses in my area in a while because they need every tech left. Attrition and past surpluses has thinned us down.

Thank your union and their grand bargaining agreement. The company would have loved to surplus you. Your outrage is misguided.
