Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Life feels so different now

It's only been 10 weeks since I quit, but honestly, it feels more like 12 months! I can't believe how much has changed since I left CVS. My mental health has improved immeasurably. Seriously, walking away was the best decision ever. I know it's scary, but if you're unhappy, just leave! You won't regret it.

Agreed. I recently left Aetna and started a new job in the same industry but it’s night and day. More structure, more organized, more transparency, benefits are way more robust, onboarding was solid, and it’s only been a few weeks. No company is perfect and everyone has flaws, it’s clear that every single Insurance carrier is going through major revamps right now, etc. HOWEVER, I think how an employer responds to those changes and how they decide to address and take care of their employees in the process makes the difference between loyal, confident employees and paranoid, anxious, distrusting employees (like what I’ve seen on these blog boards). I really hope CVS has a better year because I loved my colleagues and clients, I just didn’t like incompetent, jaded leadership.

The company is toxic and bad for your physical and mental health. I am so glad I am no longer there. I couldn’t stomach the culture today and know it is even worse than when I left last year. By far, it was the worst company I EVER worked for in my long career.

Listening to Anand Town Hall Now. He seems completely lost. No matter how good employees are we can’t execute if he has a weak strategy and does not understand the business. This company is toast.

With the OP on this one. Left of my own accord last year after the 5k layoff (I determined that I was allergic to lies and gaslighting). Life (though income is less) is positive, peaceful and happy. 100% worth it.

I wish you all the best and hope you find happiness and financial success in your new positions. I have been retired for over a decade and I must say my wife and I retired with a rather solid investment portfolio. We are not millionaires but are happy and secure. I hate to tell you but the grass is not always greener on the other side. The new generation of senior management in all industries consists of a culture of greed who was spoiled by just as greedy parents. The younger generation is one of entitlement and will not work under such conditions. In other words, payback is coming. Be ready for it. It is coming. Best of luck to you all.

I'm so happy for you! Unfortunately, I am still here for a while unless they decide otherwise. But I can't wait until I can walk out the door as well. So sad, I really loved my job but hate with CVS has done to the companies it has acquired and destroyed.
